Commercial Description:
St. Nicholas, aka Santa Claus, is a magical figure, the bringer of gifts and an icon of holiday spirit. Forgotten by most is his evil side kick and enforcer of ‘the list’. European tradition says while St. Nick is busy delivering presents to good little boys and girls, Krampus hands out punishments to the bad. A fanged, goat-horned bully, the Christmas Devil uses sticks and chains to beat the naughty children. Dark malts and aromatic hops create the diabolical spirit of this brew. It is finished with lager yeast and aged cold for no less than 30 days. This Imperial Helles Lager will warm even the darkest hearts. This season, replace the cookies with a bottle of Krampus. If he happens to pay a visit, toast to him with this devilish brew. Merry Kramp-mas to all, and to all a good pint!

(22oz bottle) Small fluffy off-white head atop clear amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit/pine, light pepper. Taste is moderately sweet, pine/grapefruit, some pepper, alcohol. Sticky medium-full body, some acidity. Very enjoyable for what it is.

22 oz bottle-pours a big light tan rocky head and amber color. Aroma is nice, sweet citrus-tangerine/lemon zest/pine/floral/perfumy (simcoe and cascade), secondary spice, syrupy, medium malt. Taste is syrupy, very sweet malty, secondary spice/pine/metallic hops, alcohol. Minimum carbonation. As I worked through this at times it clashed, at times it worked. Thanks jwc215 for picking this out.

Bottle… Clear golden lager with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Musky, earthy aroma – pine and resin. Full-bodied with modest carbonation. Very malty and sweet, but generously bittered to provide decent balance. Big toffee and biscuit malt; earthy hops. Lengthy, bittersweet finish that dries out. Thanks go out to scraff for shipping this brew my way!

Bottled. Amber coloured. Dense off beige head. Aroma of grass, herbs, spice and citrus. Light piney notes. Flavour soap, herbs, spice and flowers. Light caramel and a touch of alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Dry heavy bitterness in the end.

Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of citrus, pine, some sweet malt, perfumy, vegetables. Tastes of sweet malt, crisp, dry, spicy, some citrussy hints on the finish.

Amber beer, thin white head. Aroma is quite spicy. Clove, cardamon, and a light spicy/citrusy hoppiness. Some light lemon zest. There is a bit of pine and a soft sweet maltiness. There is a bit of light fruitiness on the back as well. A bit of brown sugar and a soft honeyed character as well. Hops are quite prominent along with a nice kick of pine and spice. Another pretty solid hoppy beer from Southern Tier.

Nose is unnecessarily rich and syrupy coriander, ginger and juniper berries. This is a gin-heavy alcoholic mess of a beer. I seriously start to doubt the palate and sanity of the ratebeer populace when I taste something so unbelievably disgusting and revolting such as this beer but see ratings so ridiculously high. Intensely cloying, disgustingly sweet throughout - ginger, juniper/gin, perfume, toxic spinach... this beer is a fucking mess.
