andersand (271), Malmö, Sweden Nov 6, 2009 Black with a brown head. Aroma is utterly sweet chemical chocolate. Flavour is similar but even sweeter with light chocolate flavours, taste like a milky chemical chocolate bar from a really crappy company. Imperial beer for under-aged kids with f**** up taste buds. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Nov 4, 2009 This is a dessert beer if ever I tasted one...would go well with cappuccino or chocolate ice cream. Dark mahogany pour that is translucent around the edges. Produces a 1/2 inch creamy latte head but nothing really stuck to the glass. Aroma is decadent: Godiva, Starbucks, vanilla, molasses, and brown sugar. Flavor doesn’t show the 11% at all. Instead, it’s sticky sweet with loads of caramel, cocoa, and vanilla bean. Not viscous and a little syrupy. Solid. ricke (59), Malme, Sweden Nov 4, 2009 Very dark brown with a medium-sized tanned head that leaves some lacings.
Basically just aromas of sweet chocolate and lightly roasted coffee. A gentle, powdery smell. Notes of roasted malts, vanilla and alcohol.
The taste is very sweet with lots of sweet chocolate and sweetish coffee flavors completely dominating the taste. Notes of nougat and vanilla. Roasted malts. Not very complex or interesting, but in general the flavors are well integrated. The taste is less powdery than the smell. The finish is somewhat bitter with notes of roasted malts, wood, chocolate and sweet alcohol.
Full-bodied, slightly too low on carbonation. It comes out as a bit heavy.
I’ve had both beers that make up this blend (Choklat and Jah-va). I thought Choklat was decent and Jah-va compete mess, and this one falls somewhere in between. It very sweet, almost cloying, and this gets too much after a while. It’s reminiscent of a dessert without high quality dessert flavors.

(Copy of old Beer Advocate review) stobbe74 (655), Denmark Nov 4, 2009 Bottle, 22 fl. oz. Pours a dark to black beer with a lightbrown head. The aroma is chocolate and so is the flavor. The palate is sweet. Overall a really chocolate beer. BrewDad (2363), Olympia, Washington, USA Nov 3, 2009 22oz Bomber – Gravity Beer Market – Olympia, WA
Aroma: Big Chocolate Stout aroma dark malts and roasty.
Appearance: Dark Brown in color, Clear with a light head.
Flavor: Tons of flavors, Chocolate comes out quite nice.br>
Overall: Bug chocolate beer this was. Once again a IPMY Stout this just does not have the huge alcohol flavor.
Cobra (1060), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA Oct 29, 2009 22 oz. bomber bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a deep, dark brown. Very little head. Left a lacing down the sides of the glass. Aromas are Hershey’s Dark Chocolate Bar, very little else. Flavors are strictly Hershey’s Chocolate Bar. Alcohol is present as well. Aftertaste is chocolate bar.
Basically a chocolate bar in a glass, with some alcohol thrown in. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Oct 26, 2009 Bottle ( 22oz ). Shared with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel. Deep but clear ruby pour, bright, with a frothy lasting light brown frothy head. The aroma was pretty sweet, borderline boozy aroma, floral, lightly spicy, but mostly a slightly carbonized sweet chocolate maltiness - a lot like a flavoured coffee. Taste - very smooth, not too strong (certainly not like many 11% beers), just sweet and lightly spicy mocha chocolate roast - yummy. Slick, creamy mouthfeel, plenty of choco-malt, but surprisingly bitter in the finish, which sure takes its time. Lovely, lovely stout - I want more. Next Buffalo trip .... the last note on my page: "SMOOOOOTH!"
