| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 10, 2009 22 oz Bomber purchased from Beer Run, pours thick and dark with very fine tan head, aroma of chocolate syrup and a hint of light coffee, flavor is of course chocolatey with thick oily mouthfeel and a bit of bitterness that tastes hoppy. A mild infusion of coffee, but the finish leaves more pronounced coffee flavor and some cocoa without the syrupy effect. Great dessert beer. bp (457), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Nice! deyholla (703), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 7, 2009 Bottle. Poured black with a brown head. The aroma was full of chocolate and coffee, reminded me of a mocha. Flavor starts a sweet chocolate but builds darker in to a coffee flavor, but also a strong alcohol presence. hellbilly (1532), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 7, 2009 the pour is fairly black though it has slight reddish tints. a fleeting tan head leaves no lacing.
man, it smells like mocha-ccino... loads of coffee, chocolate, licorice, dark roast, dust and vanilla.
the flavor is the same... i can look past the obnoxiously syrup sweet level. it does finish fairly bitter and a touch sour while nothing but coffee lingers in the aftertaste.
medium bodied though still quite sticky and sweet. bitterness and sourness keep it easier to put away... into a blackout... holy crap it’s 11%?! 9/4/8/3/15/3.9 theisti (1666), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 7, 2009 Updated: Sep 2, 200922 oz bomber generously given as a bonus by Sparky27. Pour is mostly black with slight ruby highlights, settling builds up a 1 inch tan head. Head is quite lasting. Aroma of sweet chocolate, almost like cocoa fudge. The chocolate is very pronounced, and quite "fresh baked" smelling. Roasted espresso is behind that. Some bright pine hops. This is about the cocoa, primarily, with coffee in the back seat behind it. Taste is bitter espresso initially, some pine character, then to the cocoa and a slight herbal mintiness. Interesting how the taste is the reverse order of the nose. Also evident is ever so slight cherry fruit. They really throw a lot of flavors at you with this one. Its not terribly well integrated, though i really can’t imagine it would be. Palate is heavy to medium, fully coats the mouth and is a bit oily in the long finish. Carbonation is minimal. Alcohol is well hidden under the giant pile of flavors - you really only notice it in the warming finish. As this warms, it really becomes bitter cocoa chocolate, with the sweetness bordering on syrupy sugar. I don’t have the sweet tooth to really get into this one. This was an interesting one, thanks Eric. slitcher (94), Freeport, Illinois, USA

Chocolate and coffee on the nose with a bit of malt. Tastes like carbonated Hershey syrup. Good, but just a little too much chocolate for my tatse. dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA
