Commercial Description:
When empirical and creative impulses collide, the result is often timeless. The classic utility-art aesthetic of the coffee maker is an example of design and engineering working in concert. It is through similar cooperation that the simple bitter cocoa bean is transformed into a sweet treat. As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine the best flavors of two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts, Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah, they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with - or as - your favorite dessert! Cheers!

Thanks for sharing, bro! Pours a dark brown to black color with a thin to medium off-white head which leaves almost no lacing. Aroma is milk chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. Taste has a decent amount of vanilla, like the Creme Brulee, but not too overpowering. There is also a good coffee and milk chocolate taste in there, with a hint of rum raisin. Outstanding.

22 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours pitch black. Medium head with fair head retention and lacing. Aroma is very nice... a congruence of all things chocolate and delectable with just a hint of coffee thrown in. Taste is dark chocolate with roasted malts and a bitter espresso finish and faint vanilla notes.. Full bodied. Damn good beer,

Part of a So. Tier sampling party. My sense was that Choklat was a bit better, but I very much enjoyed this as well. The mouthfeel and viscosity was superior to Chocklat, but my sense was that while coffee and chocolate do work well together, they work less well in beer, where the flavors become entangled and detract rather than benefit.

(22oz bottle) Pours a deep mahogany body with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. Flavor of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, and caramel with a silky smooth dessert-like finish. Another excellent stout from Southern Tier!

A combination of Java (which I thought was OK but nothing spectacular) and Choklat (which I love), here goes. Smells like Choklat - sweet sticky and syrupy with notes of chocolate and molasses. Perfect pour - black color with no highlights and a big beige head. Tastes a lot like Choklat with a few coffee notes, plus hops for balance. For 11% ABV, I’m surprised by how thin the mouth feel is on this beer. Awesome dessert beer though.

On tap at RnH (Midtown, NYC): Tastes like a chocolate creamsicle. Sinful but utterly perfect. A chocolate/java lover’s dream! This taste is on a monumentous force of it’s own. It stands out big time. #041 on 01072009, DG.
