Commercial Description:
When empirical and creative impulses collide, the result is often timeless. The classic utility-art aesthetic of the coffee maker is an example of design and engineering working in concert. It is through similar cooperation that the simple bitter cocoa bean is transformed into a sweet treat. As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine the best flavors of two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts, Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah, they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with - or as - your favorite dessert! Cheers!

On tap at Coles. Buffalo NY. Pours a dark blackish brown. Big roasty chocolatey aroma. Not finding too much coffee/jah va here. Taste is chocolate, burnt coffee with alcohol burn in the finish. Prefer each beer seperate. Body is considerably light than each by its own. Still some breweries would kill to put this out. ST has set its barometer pretty high for this to be slightly disappointing

Pours out black with a small fluffy tan head. Aroma is of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and candy bars. Taste is a strange balance of the two beers, chocolate, cocoa, roasted malts, sweet candy, and a little bit of alcohol on the finish, palate a bit thin. Good effort, alone these two beers are good, but together I’m not really feeling it.

22oz bottle. Darkest brown pour with a big tan head. Malty aroma with chocolate, caramel and a bit of fruit. No coffee at all. Chocolate syrup flavor with just a touch of coffee and hop. A good beer, but sort of disappointing. Just tastes like a slightly dumbed down version of Choklat; hardly any coffee influence at all.

This beer seemed to be just off. It was too creamy for my taste. It was smooth and still very drinkable but I was let down a bit

Pours black with a small frothy tan head. Strong aromas of dark chocolate and espresso, with a touch of vanilla, and piny hops. Semi-sweet chocolate upfront that gives way to a vanilla-laced espresso body that retains some lactic sweetness, and finishes bitter-sweet and piny/herbaceous. Full bodied and creamy, but chalky like cocoa with a good bit of warming (almost too much, but not quite) alcohol.

This was veerrry sweet, but had incredibly rich flavor. Holy cow, it was awesome chocolate-malt-hot chocolate coffee. Creamy, toffee, espresso. I mean, it was good, but waaay over the top. Milk chocolate too. Crazy, but good.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a DEEP mahogany with a thick and creamy mocha/chestnut head. RICH chocolates in the aroma along with roasted coffee, brown sugar, and some vanilla beans. Goes down medium-bodied and smooth. The taste starts off with a good deal of sweet milk chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. Reminds me of Whoppers candy. A roasted coffee with cream transition. A drying, hoppy finish full of pine. There is a warming alcohol presence throughout. Good stuff now, but this would be truly great with some time on the shelf.

Interesting. Although I liked the combination of flavors, and I rated the pieces that go into this rather highly, for some reason in this marriage the alcohol suddenly came pouring out too strong. In any case, pours black. Aroma is just awesome, lush dark chocolate with rich, creamy espresso underpinnings. A great sniffer for sure. In the mouth, the initial hit is chocolate, followed by the espresso, followed by a simultaneous punch of astringency from dark malts and hot alcohol. Yikes. How did it all go so wrong? Maybe age will mellow this out a bit. From the beers that went into this blend to the fantastic aroma, to the abrupt flavor crash, this was one of the biggest fall-offs I have ever encountered.
