Black colour with low, brown head. Chocolate backbone in aroma, with notes of nuts and suggestions of menthol. Body is thick and oily with low carbonation. Pepperminty, bitter chocolate in flavour with orange traces. Medium-big mouthfeel and medium bitter.

Aroma of chocolate, coffee, white sugar, high sweetness.
Flavour is sweet, lots of milk chocolate, very minor roast, some light alcohol.
Warming sweet mouth, med/large body, mod carb.
Finishes warm, long and quite sweet.
I’d much rather have this for dessert than the creme brule. This has balance and there is more here then just sweetness.

And I’m proud of that. Its pour was a beautiful deep brown with off white head. Nice lacing. The aroma was roasted malts, reminiscent of a winter drink, coffee and chocolate combined. What a great idea. ChristianScheffel (4632), Odense, Denmark

I’ve had this twice, once on draft at Malt and Vine ( HI Scrizzz!) and once out of bottle at Fretts house. Both were lovely. I would almost call this Speedway-lite if I might be forgiven. This is the sweetest of the 3 Southern Tier stouts I’ve had (Mokah, Oat and Jahva) , and for me falls right in the middle in terms of taste and complexity. It is black as sin, with a thick tan head, and the nose is indescribable: all the best things about sweet stouts rush to the fore; toasted marshmallow, coconut, milk chocolate, sweet espresso, maple, and dark fruit all jump out at you. The palate, if a shade sweeter than necessary is also redolent with big, joyous flavors. Not the masterwork of balance that the Oat is, but world ahead of the Jahva, I would buy this again for the sheer happiness this beer brings me.
