Bought by my brother to help me towards my 1,000th beer! A fine beer, but I was disappointed. had high expectations. Aroma is hops and malt with a touch of typical oak character. Flavor is sweet and oak characteristics - vanilla, wood, etc. I think I just don’t love the combination. Grew on me as I went through but still not amazing.

Pours golden with a white head. Strong hop aroma of grapefruit accompanied by an oakish background. Flavor was spicy with the citrus like flavors of the hops, with the oak providing a sublte mellowing of the hops.

22 oz bomber acquired via trade. Poured deep amber with a minimal white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, caramel and a slight bit of oak. The oak comes out more in the flavor, along with those citrus hops, caramel malt and some light vanilla. Pretty heavy mouthfeel, but smooth at the same time. Enjoyed it, but might like the regular UE better.

Compliments of our favorite beer "Whizz-ard", Drbayern. Enjoyed with the seldom kiltless Celticbrew, Uncle Steve and our Beer Pimp Brian. Poured a copper color with no head, but minimal lacing on the glass. The aroma was solid oak and nice! The taste was a wonderful seasoned oak aged hops. The mouthfeel was incredible, velvet to the mouth. the aftertaste leaves you wanting another sip. This was incredably great!

Bottle at the RBESG09, Grand tasting, sheffield. Alround rating: Very sweet, loads of caramalt, some lychee character, but the sweetness with a touch of oak kills the hops. Why anyone would barrel age what is ment to be one of the cleanest styles and make it unclean iv now idea.

Okay. The oak, the vanilla...too much. Sweet. Really sweet. Not nearly enough bitterness to balance out. I immediately regretted opening this just for myself...fearing I would throw myself into some sort of diabetic coma. Fortunately, I survived.

22oz Bomber – Gravity Beer Market – Olympia, WA
Aroma: Big hops and oak aroma with a nice malt backing.
Appearance: Dark Golden in color, Clear with a light head.
Flavor: Awesome oak flavoring. I was surprised with the balance the hops gave of. Earth like flavors where present.
Palate: Dry Oaky/IPA Finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: Big beer this was very nice and great to drink. Loved the oak flavors that added to the hops.

[RBESG, Sheffield]
Grand Tasting @ The Harlequin, Sheffield.
Pours clear golden with a nice, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, fat maltiness, Evers Althea drops, subdued oak, resiny fruity hops and a bit perfumey. Low carbonation, fine oily mouthfeel. Flavour is very malty actually, not very crisp. Lots of fruity hops and fair bitterness. Sadly, it is also very burning in its alcohol. Only okay.
