Pours a dark amber,a little more golden that most IIPAs with a white head. Really interesting aroma on this number. Cascade hops of pine and citrus, almost overwhelmed with a vanilla oak scent. One of the more interesting IIPAs I’ve had. Flavor is a nice balance of piney hop bitterness and caramel malt lying under a robust, dry, oak that cuts through all the way to the finish. Gotta give these guys credit for making a very enjoyable change of pace. Sammy (4003), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Amazing tap, as the oak ageing mellows and smooths out the aggressive hoppiness. Hop aroma, closer to a juicy West Coast IPA. Colour is creamy yellow golden, can pass for a Belgiumn. Understated carbonation. Dangerously drinkable, creamy citrus orange flavour. 1FastSTi (2560), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 23, 2009 Tap. Pours to a nice deep orange body with a nice white head. The aroma is really crisp hops. Sweet pineapple and other fruits. Perhaps mango? Very smooth fruits meets subtle vanilla. The flavor is hoppy with lots of lemons, pineapples, oranges, blood oranges, and subtle oaken vanilla. The palate is surprisingly smooth for as hoppy as it is. May be high in IBUs but it doesn’t seem bitter. The barrel mellows it. matt7215 (967), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 21, 2009 Snifter served at Lunar Brewing. The pour was a clear amber with an off white, foamy head that reduced quickly to a bubbly ring but left some nice clingy lacing. The aroma was sweet malt and citrus with only a touch of resin and wood. The citrus notes were more identifiable in the flavor as orange peel and ruby red grapefruit. Smooth malt and almost a candy sweetness were also present. Alcohol was warming throughout the flavor and finish. Very good and hard to just sip. madvike (326), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 21, 2009 Bomber - Wow. This is a great beer. First off, it looks stunning. It pours an amber rose with a small bubbly head, with little champagne-like carbonation that rises from the bottom of the glass up to the head. The smell is of citrusy hops with a solid malt backbone. The taste is nicely balanced, with bitter, pine sappy hops that bite just enough to offset the dry oak and smooth malt. The finish is dry, which works well with the oily mouthfeel. I will definitely get more of this the next time it comes around. Odeed (1673), Bakersfield, California, USA
