Received the oak aged instead of the regular version. Strong malt presence in the nose. Raisin, cheddar, sugar, hops and oak appearing. Caramel, faint marmite, oak, Shōchū, soy sauce and citrusy hops in the taste. Full bodied. Sweet and syrupy. Subdued bitterness. Warming on the swallow. Sweet sticky finish. Not my kind of double IPA. tennessejed420 (100), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 8, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Pours an orange amber with almost non-existent white head. Rich liquorish, molasses aroma, with underlying hops slightly detectable. Tastes of sweet roasted oak with hop underly. This actually could be hoppier. Overall a truly exotic brew. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 7, 2009 Burnt orange pour with a light white head. Aroma of toffee, grapefruit, fruit, wood, and breadcrust. Sweet and rounded flavor of toffee, bread, brown sugar, earthy hops, and light citrus. Finishes dry, warm, and nutty. Very good, better than Great Divide’s 15th, and I loved the mouthfeel on this one. cmonster (114), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 5, 2009 Bomber poured into a tulip. Nice hazy orange, beautiful color, sadly only missing its head. Ichabod IPA. Big malty nose, some alcohol, but not much hop appeal. The oak shows on the palate, enhancing the creamy, rich flavors and sticky mouthfeel. Some caramel-dark chocolate bitterness on the finish. The oak seems to tempt the malt toward a Barley Wine character. Overall, a malt-heavy double IPA... not my preferred style, but still quite nice. jeff789 (422), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Big creamy oaky aroma with a subdued hoppy backing, aromas are muddled... Flavor follows the aroma, big hops in the flavor, a touch citrusy, oak muddles again... Interesting beer, but i still dont get the oak aging of IPA’s... harrisoni (6947), Ashford, Kent, England

Way too hoppy, and too alcoholic. Too boozy. Unbalanced and burning. Still loved the outlandishness though Ober (1235), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands
