aroma-couldn’t put my finger on the actual fruit....kind of like the smell of a fruit cup when you open it...has faint alcohol smell behind it Appearance - hazy golden/orange with minimal head that dissapates quickly Flavor - Very bitter....Oak dominates the taste leaving little room for the hop to shine out Palate- medium body and not strongly carbonated....goes down real smooth

I loved this. Great looking cloudy amber with a small head. Citrus, pine aroma leads to a malty sweet first taste followed by a hoppy vanilla wood finish. Nicely crisp yet warming on the way down. Very well done.

Half inch yellow head from the bottle pour fades quickly to about 10% glass coverage on the lacing. Rich amber body smells mainly of aged floral hops, oak, and caramel. The high alcohol is well disguised by an overall grassy sweetness and a faint nuttiness. Graham crackers, honey, some dark raisin, but mostly a bushel of age mellowed hops. Your tongue goes thick by the end of the glass.

A lot of sweetness in the flavor. Very smooth mouthfeel. The bith came out of the hops and the wood is a very pleasnt undertone

My Bottom Line:
This interesting sipper of a Double IPA focuses on its perfumy oaken notes and honeyed malts to offer a liquorous concoction brushed by constant alcohol warmth.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the misty orange.
-Like many Southern Tier big beers, this one is very sweet.
-The oak character is very green, and smells like soaked oak chips rather than an actual oak barrel.
-The hops are resinous and spicy throughout.

Bottle.

Bottle. Pours dark copper/orange with a off-white head that left spotty lacing. Aroma was piney and citrus hops, grapefruit, caramel, light vanilla and some notes of oak. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Flavor was moderately sweet and hoppy with sticky pine, grapefruit zest, oak, subtle caramel, vanilla and a hint of pineapple with a full body and has a bittersweet finish. Awesome brew

Courtesy of Enjoyit and Sammy. The color is orange-red amber and the head is creamy. The aroma has notes of oak, vanilla, fruit and it’s vinous. The flavor has a light sweetness and notes of oak, vanilla, fruit and the finish is slightly dry and citrussy. It is vinous and smooth and nice.

Bottle, with many thanks to Cletus. Shared with Macadem and hobbersr. Pours dark orange, with a very scant thin head, but fantastic lacing. Nose is tired hops, plus a variety of baked goods, great cinnamon-bourbon character. Grapefruit and ginger, plus honey in the mouth. Very good, and very surprising.
