Commercial Description:
“brewed for the harvest” This beer begins in spring when oat seeds are sown as soon as the soil can be worked. Meanwhile, select types of barley are planted with hopes that Mother Nature will be kind. Our brewers wait patiently until the legumes are mature and ready for the scythe. Upon delivery to the brewery, these ingredients are mixed together in the mash tun where they steep, creating a rich molasses-like liquid. Spicy hops are boiled with the thick brew, giving balance and complexity. Brewers yeast feasts upon the rich sugars, concluding its transformation into oatmeal stout. Pour Oat into a snifter, allow its thick tan head to slowly rise, releasing unbridled aromas. The color of Oat is as dark as a moonless night. The first sip reveals Oat’s thick and nourishing taste. Like a haversack to a horse, a bottle of this stout is a meal in itself. Enjoy responsibly. 11.0% abv • 238º L

22 oz bomber courtesy of Maniac. Dark mahogany brown almost opague with small head. Aromas of roasted malt and some raisin. Raisins, plums, and roast malt flavors backed with assertive hopping to ballance. Creamy full moderatly carbonated mouthfeel with some alchohol warming. Some coffee and lots of roasty malts in the finish. Super oatmeal stout.

Poured a dark black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, a little coffee, and alcohol. Flavor is also very chocolatey with a nice burnt coffee hoppy bitter finish which is good but does not cover up the alcohol as much as I would have hoped.

Courtesy of TheCheeseMan, Daniel I’m forever grateful for this wonderful beer!! It’s pitch black and the head is small, dense and nougat colored. The aroma is smooth with notes of oats, roasted malt, sweetness, dark fruits, sweet licorice and the mouthfeel is oily and nice. The flavour is incredibly smooth, harmonic, full-bodied - in fact voluminous. It’s an orgy of tasty oats, roasted malt, dark fruit, sweet licorice, light coffee, full and pleasant sweetness and you do not feel the 11% at all. It’s hard to describe this wonderful beer, try it if you get the chance!!

Pours black, with a short lived brown head. Incredible aroma! My notes say "Great taste of fish" but I think I was drunk and quoting Monty Python. Regardless, I was clearly impresed with a strong chocolate aroma. Tastes fantastic, oaty thick with molasses and alcohol in the finish. Love it! Thick body with great carbonation. Very, very nice. Many thanks to Ughsmash for the trade!

Bottle courtesy of jsquire. Thanks, Jeff! Small tan head that mostly diminished, virtually no lacing, opaque, no carbonation noted, and a black hue. Nose was malt, roasty, chocolate, hoppy, and oats. Flavor was malt, chocolate, roasty, hoppy, lightly bitter, and the ABV was well masked. Smooth mouthfeel and medium in body. Very quaffable brew, nicely done and worthy of a try if it comes your way.

22oz bottle coutesy of hellbilly. Good barley oat grain aroma along with alcohol on the nose. Black body with tan head. Creamy body texture with good blend of oats, coco and a sweet bitter flavor. A dry sweetness lingers on the palate along with some alcohol. Good brew thanks Joshua.

650 ml bottle courtesy of jjpm74. This one pours and opaque dark brown color with a medium khaki head. The aroma is bold with dark fruit; plums, dates and black cherries. The flavor is pretty much identical to the aroma, the big dark fruits are all there with an emphasis on the dark cherries. The hops are moderate and well integrated with a bit of biter chocolate present. The mouthfeel is full and satisfying. The finish is long and dry. Overall: This is a superb impy stout, and it goes very well with snickerdoodle cookies.

Pours a dark dense brown/black hue, thick creamy tan head dissipates to a thin ring. Smell dominated by big malts ranging from caramel to bread and roast. Taste opens with roasty chocolate malts, high alcohol presence, and brown sugar, transitions to oatmeal, coffee, dark fruit, and bitter hops, finishes with booze and syrupy sweet molasses. Full-bodied, thick and chewy texture with a burning alcohol sensation, prickly and lively carbonation. Somewhat hampered by a domineering alcohol presence (11%abv), but overall great malt profile with a range of complex flavors.
