| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 6, 2009 For an old ale this is very light. Not much going on with this beer. Not much aroma. One of the plainer holiday ales around. Even the color doesn’t evoke home and hearth and snow outside. I usually like Southern Tier. This doesn’t do much for me. dwaggs2 (562), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a decent head. Left some lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma was caramel, toffee, and malts. Flavor was excellent. Basement aroma, butterstoch, and nutty. Finish was mild bitters. Medium body. Great winter beer. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Updated: Dec 5, 2009Bottle courtesy of JRedmond. I’ve been trying to get my hands on this brew for over a year. Basically the last mainstream ST brew that I haven’t rated. Really happy to have finally tried it.. so massive props. The brew poured a leathery brown with off white dissipating head atop. Flavors are strong and hearty for an Non-Imperial Southern Tier... hop is initially present but loads of cereal malts and sugary hay undertone flavors are present. A very strong offering 3.55 KornDogg (220), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA

Meduim body, caramel/barley flavor with citrus and floral notes. Bitter aftertaste that coats your mouth. cprochak (423), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
