Commercial Description:
When Phin and Matt sat down to collaborate on their new beer, they knew it had to be different if they were to call it extraordinary. "Let sprinkle it with fairy dust and wave our magic wands," said Phin. "No way," said Matt, "We've got to do better than that. This beer has to be better than any other in the galaxy." "Let's do some market research." So the two strapped on their rocket pack packs and traveled to the intergalactic beer store. After sampling an array of beers from acrossed the galaxy, the duo hit on an idea. "I've got it" exclaimed Matt, "we'll use vast amounts of whole hops, the finest malt, and put a little more love in every batch." "Eureka!" shouted Phin. And thus became a beer so fresh and tasty the duo put their names on it. 37 IBU's, 5.6% ABV

12 oz bottle purchased at Oak Tree. This one poured with waaaay to much head. Virtually it was a glass of head so I thought it might have been infected but the aroma and flavor seemed to be okay. Aroma had a slight bit of mustiness, the malt profile seemed to be wheaty although I’m pretty sure this isn’t brewed with wheat. Flavor is dominated by lots of malts with some spicey pepper as well. For some reason I was expecting something smooth and easy drinking and this was much fuller and more complex then I was anticipating.

The color is somewhat clear with a golden tint. There is a white sudsy head that leaves some streaks along the sides of the glass. The nose has some bitter hops mixed with pale malt. As you take a sip the beer is nice and crisp with the perfect balance of bitterness and bready malt. Overall the beer is nice and crisp and can be pared well with most foods.

pours a pale amber/orange tea color with a minimal head. smells sweet and grainy with orange and mild grassy hops. very tame flavor... orange/citrusy hops, grass, grain and a moderately dry finish. light to medium bodied. smooth texture. kinda meh. leaves me wanting something more.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of caramel malts, hops, fruits, and some grass floral. Poured golden/amber/orange in color with a huge, dense, foamy, off-white head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of small particles. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Flavor of caramel malts, citrus hops, sugar and citrus. Medium body. Lightly sticky texture. Lively carbonation. Sweet hoppy finish.

Presentation: Poured from a 12oz brown bottle into a pint glass. It pours a beautiful golden amber color with a thin head that fades fast leaving just a few bubbles around the sides of the glass. The aroma get a kick of citrus, floral and piney hops with undertones of sweet bready malts. Its flavor starts with sweet bready malts with a light toasted note. It soon builds up to a burst of fruity and piney hops with a decent bitterness that fades off into the finish. The palate is smooth and slightly oily with average carbonation and a medium body. Overall it has a strong hop presence with an easy to drink, refreshing palate. Its good but I wouldn’t call it extraordinary.

Bottle thanks to beerbill. Pours somewhere between crystal clear and hazy, a yellowish to straw colour, with little to no head. Aroma is a little bit of grassy hops, not much else, except maybe a faint spiciness. Flavour is pretty much the same lots of hop bitterness, with a bit of malt in the middle and more hops on the finish. Carbonation seems a bit low, and the brew is a bit watery. Pretty tasty though.

Chaucers in London, served nice and cold in a trappist glass, poured gold with no head in the rinsed glass. In comparison to domestic Aaes, this is extraordinary, but for any craft beer comparison, it’s daring to call it extraordinary. It was alright, aroma was pretty week - citrus, a bit of malt. Taste was thin, a bit of grassy hops, finished even. Not bad, but the percentile rating is genuinely how I feel about this brew.
