Commercial Description:
When Phin and Matt sat down to collaborate on their new beer, they knew it had to be different if they were to call it extraordinary. "Let sprinkle it with fairy dust and wave our magic wands," said Phin. "No way," said Matt, "We've got to do better than that. This beer has to be better than any other in the galaxy." "Let's do some market research." So the two strapped on their rocket pack packs and traveled to the intergalactic beer store. After sampling an array of beers from acrossed the galaxy, the duo hit on an idea. "I've got it" exclaimed Matt, "we'll use vast amounts of whole hops, the finest malt, and put a little more love in every batch." "Eureka!" shouted Phin. And thus became a beer so fresh and tasty the duo put their names on it. 37 IBU's, 5.6% ABV

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Three Cellars in St Francis, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden pale brew with a decent and lumpy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a fine film and some spotty lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, some citrus hops, a touch of apple, and some cotton candy. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with a more citrus hoppy flavor than caramel malt. Finish has a slight apple bitter aftertaste that slowly disappears.

Not that extraordinary. I expected more for the taste for some reason. Somewhat weak in content of flavor. Has a hoppy aroma and low hoppy taste. Kind of refreshing and crisp towards the end, but nothing big.

Bottle. Very similar aroma to Three Floyds Alpha King which must be coming from the Cascade hops. Sweet, well balanced and moderately hoppy. Slightly hazy gold. Good, ghoulish, sloppy lace. Upon first sip there is something I really like about this brew and something I’m not sure of. Fairly strong bitterness greets the front of the tongue. Good balance. This is a watered down version of Alpha King and perhaps more sessionable. This would be a great beer to indoctrinate hop newbies. Clearly I prefer a little more robustness in my ales, but the label says it best, this is an extraordinary, session pale and clearly a victim of the Ratebeer big beer bias.

On tap at cb six - Bitter aroma, very light honey in color (lighter than you would expect) distinctive light hops flavor, crisp and clean in the follow-up. Little or no head. Not a pale ale at all, but something hoppy and unique that hits your tastebuds and dissipates very quickly.

Bitter aroma with a nice scent of hops, like planted flowers. Color of Miller Lite, but a good color for this ale. Unfortunately it tastes like Miller Lite with better hops. Too watery, not enough of a pale ale taste. It is a good hot weather beer. Very refreshing. I can’t get over the lack of taste. It doesn’t stay with me at all. It’s very close to water. I wouldn’t say extraordinary. It’s good though.

12 oz bottle from a trade with Bungalo22. pours a honey hued hazy golden with a small white head. aromas are hoppy with pale malt also present. flavours are balanced between the hops and malts but are not big and showy. good without being great.
