Commercial Description:
When Phin and Matt sat down to collaborate on their new beer, they knew it had to be different if they were to call it extraordinary. "Let sprinkle it with fairy dust and wave our magic wands," said Phin. "No way," said Matt, "We've got to do better than that. This beer has to be better than any other in the galaxy." "Let's do some market research." So the two strapped on their rocket pack packs and traveled to the intergalactic beer store. After sampling an array of beers from acrossed the galaxy, the duo hit on an idea. "I've got it" exclaimed Matt, "we'll use vast amounts of whole hops, the finest malt, and put a little more love in every batch." "Eureka!" shouted Phin. And thus became a beer so fresh and tasty the duo put their names on it. 37 IBU's, 5.6% ABV

Bottled sample via gregclow. Dark gold in colour with medium carbonation. C-hop aromas of pink grapefruit and black pepper are the first to strike, before giving way to some slightly nutty malt notes. A similar course of events take place in the mouth, with the citric hops leading the way before the malt character takes hold. The moderately leafy bitterness is nice. Overall, it’s pretty much by the book, but it lacks a little punch.

Golden colour with poor head retention, of it’s off white head. Slight apple juce aroma with a medium hoppy aroma. Medium body, so it is not too water.

(Bottle) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with a moderate white head. Aroma of citrus, florals, caramel, and toasted cereal. Flavor of floral hops, herbs, and caramel malt.

Bottle from Shawan’s. Poured a brownish gold. Aroma of citrus, fruit, orange and caramel/toffee. Good aroma. Flavor was ok; not overly hoppy, but hoppy for the style. Flavor was similar to the aroma but more bread and biscuit. Palate was slightly off; thin.

Pours a orangish/brownish pour. Smells great with a fruit aroma. Very subtle flavor with a yeasty malt taste at the end.

Said to be a cult favorite of some Northeastern craft beer lovers? Hazed apricot body supports a nice creamy offwhite head. Aroma is citrusy with pink grapefruit and orange. Bready malt mixes with a solid citrusy hop bitterness in the taste. Well balanced and tasty, but not an earth mover.

Out of a mixed 12 pack. Not bad, but not as good as I remember it being the first time I sampled it. Might have been slightly too warm. A little over-bitter, but not horribly out of balance.

Pale gold in color, citrusy hop aroma. Slightly sweet bitterness, but smooth. Hop levels are about 5 out of 10. Recommended.
