sfontain (500), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jan 30, 2007 Quite dark brown; very little tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roast, caramel, and light vanilla. Flavor predominantly chocolate, coffee, and roast; moderately bitter, hoppy, roasty finish. Medium-thick and frothy; mildly sticky. This is a solid, if forgettable, above-average porter.
mabel (1391), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 4, 2008 [1266-20080407] 12floz bottle. Boozy grains aroma with roasted earth notes. Dark brown black body with a medium-lasting foamy light tan head. Bitter candy cane coffee flavour has roasted malt throughout. Full body. Really interesting flavour, a solid porter. Lots of chocolate and coffee on the nose. Chocolate taste is complimented by expresso bitterness. Very drinkable.
