Cornfield (4245), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA May 12, 2008 Definitely a fruit beer. The aroma from this beige headed, clear brown ale is nothing but raspberries, some fresh, some candied. Some malty chocolate and a light roastiness are present in the flavor, too, but the fruit dominates. Nothing I’d care to repeat.

jimhilt (1359), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Jul 24, 2008 Pours a five+ finger cream head that fades slowly, leaving a good lace. Deep mahogany color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. roasted coffee nose. Flavor is roasted coffee, with late hint of raspberry. $1.85 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma. Aroma is medium sweet, raspberry, light chocolate and caramel. Flavor is raspberry, astringency and light chocolate. Light to medium body. Really more raspberry than porter. emacgee (946), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 12, 2008 Thanks MIketd. Pours a thin and kind of translucent brown. Allows more light than I would like from the style. The head is also very uncharacteristic, foams an enormous tan head. The nose is fairly two dimensional, raspberry syrup (not real raspberry), some chocolate, a little sweet, the tiniest hop character pokes through along with a tad bit of roast. The flavor is very sweet raspberry, roasty, chocolate, porter shows well. I’ll give it this it is a raspberry porter, doesn’t bear too much on either side in my opinion. Thin mouthfeel and a finish that leaves you wanting a bit more of those "Pacific Northwest grown hops". aubreya (648), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 12, 2008 The color was ruby/brown. The head frothy and off-white. The aroma was raspberry, chocolate, sweet, and candy. The flavor was tobacco, raspberry, burnt, and bran. The palate was very carbonated. The finish was abrupt.
