Pwn3d (591), NYC, New York, USA Jun 30, 2008 12oz bottle. In short - I’m a big Southern Tier fan but this is considerable below par for them. Still, its not bad. The details - Pour is light amber with attractive with head, and decent lace work. Taste is raspberry, hops, and bread dough. Thin bodied. Would of liked to see them do a Ephemere-type fruit beer.
LooseCannon (635), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Aug 20, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours clear golden in color with very thin white head, which does not last long. Aroma raspberries, raspberries and sweet. Taste sweet, raspberries and spicey with dry finish. tupalev (2285), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 13, 2008 Bottle. Medium yellow, hardly any head. Nice fruity aroma, not bad. Body is very thi. Taste is ok, bordering on artificial, but I also found it quite refreshing. Not as bad as these reviews make it out to be, but not great by their standards either. alexanderj (1218), San Diego, California, USA Aug 8, 2008 Bottle; didn’t realize this was so lowly rated. Poured a ruddy, burnt orange color with an off white head. Aroma was ok, mostly just fruit and some yeast/bread. Flavor was really bad; expecting more than just a bland raspberry flavor. Before you get to the fruit it basically tastes like nothing. Very light on the palate. This beer was a mess, which is surprising from a brewery I like. blindeyedbetty (94), Arlington, Virginia, USA Jul 20, 2008 12 oz. bottle poured a very carbonated bright mandarin orange color, clear with very little head. Aroma is of weak raspberries and some wheat. Front palate is sour with a bitter middle palate and a finish of yeast. There is a mild raspberry aftertaste. This seems more like a malt liquor than a beer. It’s got a really light body and flimsy taste. It hardly seems worth drinking, really.
nearbeer (1199), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 18, 2008 12 oz. Clear topaz with a medium-sized meringue head that lasts. Aroma is tart raspberry and sweetish cream. Flavor is the same, plus some grain, with some drying grassy hop on the middle that becomes bitter on the finish. Light body is slightly tingly and finishes dryish.
