Commercial Description:
Don't let Tripel's light color and delicate aroma fool you, this is one serious beer brewed with maximum effort. First, we introduce freshest barley to crystal filtered water. Second, we add the best hops shipped directly for Europe. Third, our special yeast is the catalyst for fermentation, gobbling sugar and creating alcohol as it works. Some say that the Belgian monks who first brewed this style called it triple to denoted its high alcohol content. Still others believe triple's origins lay in its triple fermentation; twice in the brewery and once in the bottle. Whatever the answer, ours is the Tripel threat.

There is a light orange peel aroma with a slight hint of caramel. The body is golden and very clear. Upon the pour the head is of significant size and duration is nearly fully lasting. At first there is a slight caramel sweetness which rounds out to a mild hop bitterness. The finish on the palate is light and refreshing.

Orange body with a thin white head. Caramel and tangerine nose. Sweet upfront flavor with a yeasty twang. Finish is dry with lingering citrus. A flavor that is like having a penny in your mouth is a bit distracting in this. Alcohol is noticeable in this. Ap- 3 ar- 6 tas-4 pal-2 ov-9

Clear gold w/ thin ring of frothy white foam. Yeasty, citrusy aroma over a caramel malt background. Thick, medium body. Flavour is yeasty & malty w/ lots of clean, citrusy hops. Finish is quite dry & peppery.

thanks to Chucks66 for sharing! Very intresting...a filtered Tripel...Very clear pour. Carbonation fades quickly. Sweet nose with hints of honey, candi sugar and LOTS of yeast. A bit sweet, but sugary sweet. I picked up a nutty flavor(munich malt?). Turns quite spicy and edgy on the fiinsh. Overall, this didn’t have any real flaws, but it really wasn’t very good, either. Rought around the edges.

Artificial honey aroma, golden color with a small white head, sticky sweet, not particularly great with a hint of citrus, somewhat cloying. Not too much there.

(Draught) Sampled at the Central New York Brewfest on February 4, 2006. Near headless with a light amber body. Nose of sweet caramel malt. Malty, sweet corn and whiskey add up to a terrible tasting tripel.

I honestly could not finish one bottle of this stuff. It just had a bad after taste after every drink. Maybe I got a bad one, but the other southern tier beers in my varity packs were good. Maybe I don’t care much for belgian style ales. I’m an IPA and stout person.

I couldn’t beleive how strong this one was with 9% alcohol volume, a few of these and you are feeling it... nice belgian style beer
