Commercial Description:
Don't let Tripel's light color and delicate aroma fool you, this is one serious beer brewed with maximum effort. First, we introduce freshest barley to crystal filtered water. Second, we add the best hops shipped directly for Europe. Third, our special yeast is the catalyst for fermentation, gobbling sugar and creating alcohol as it works. Some say that the Belgian monks who first brewed this style called it triple to denoted its high alcohol content. Still others believe triple's origins lay in its triple fermentation; twice in the brewery and once in the bottle. Whatever the answer, ours is the Tripel threat.

22oz/650ml bottle -pours a disappearing white head and gold color. Aroma is medium malt-sweet, fruit, secondary spicy/perfumy hops. Taste is medium malt-sweet, fruit, secondary spicy/perfumy/pepper (coriander)-hops, yeasty. OK effervescence.

12 oz bottle: Aroma has a nice light bubblegum, clove, spice, light amount of yeast if any, and some light alcohol notes. Appearance is a clear golden but slightly amber pour with little to no head that diminishes into a soapy white film. Taste is decent nicely spiced, somewhat dry on the back of the throat. Sweet alcohol twang to this beer makes it interesting. Wheaty, sharp, dry, mouth coating, and spiced. Overall, It’s a nice and refreshing Belgian-esqe tripel. I would by it at the bar if it was on tap. Cheers!

Pours a golden yellow with a nice head that reduces but sticks around through out. Smells of honey and hops and just a bit of the alcohol comes through. Not exactly what I am used to from a tripel but it is a good beer overall. It is smooth but slightly bitter. A so-so tripel.

Meh, quite disappointing as a labelled "tripel." Tasted like an American Wheaty Pilsner on steroids when all was said and done. The pour was weak from the get go, hazy amber colored pour, weak initial head, especially horrid within style, no retention of even what was there, lacing miserable. The aroma was weak, caramel, grass, herbal notes. The flavor was grassy, herbal, slightly vegetal hops, caramel in the base, earthy wheaty type notes, some floral notes, some spiciness, nothing identifiable from a spice rack per se, maybe the spicing came from the hops. Mouthfeel was hoppy zippy with a bitter finish, fairly thin for the style. Lacked yeasty elements that need to be there. Sorry, I’m normally ok w/ ST, but this is a poor attempt at the style, honestly.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark golden color with amedium frothy white head. The aroma shows good sweetness, decent fruit character, spices, and a fair amount of alcohol. The flavor has bready malt, light fruit, noticable bitterness, light fruit, and alcohol. On the light side of medium in body with light carbonation. This, much like the Cherry Saison, is at the lower end of the spectrum for ST beers IMHO.

Bottle. Orange-amber pour with a small white head. Nose is flowery hops, Belgian yeast, candy sugar, spices, and sweet malts. Taste is rather hoppy for a tripel. Lots of floral hops, lighter spicy hops, spices, citrus fruits, dried tropical fruits, candy sugar, sweet malts, and yeast. Body is well carbonated and medium-full. Some creaminess on the palate but ends rather dry. Finishes with more big hops flavors, more citrus notes, big spices, lesser candy sugar, strong yeast and grain notes and some sweet malt. Definitely an "Americanized’ tripel!
