Kinz (1931), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA May 19, 2008 I rather enjoyed this. Medium gold, slight haze, good lasting head. Aroma was fruity, oranges with a bit of a floral note. Flavor was lightly of gummy pale malts, with a nice citric finish, with a hint of spice and floral notes. Balanced, not cloyingly sweet. One of the better tripels I’ve had in a while. You could accuse it of being a pimped out wit minus the wheat, but this was a nice beer. Surprised by the low ratings here.
HonkeyBra (517), Lemont, Illinois, USA Nov 19, 2008 Pretty lame for a tripel. Or a beer in general. A lot of alcohol in the nose, and a lot more in the taste with no real impressive fruit flavors. Wont buy again. after4ever (1925), Brier, Washington, USA Nov 17, 2008 Draft at The Stumbling Monk. Pours slightly hazy medium gold with a dense and persistent creamy tan head. Bone dry; some old hay and some biscuit comprise the bulk of the nose. Medium body, a bit of carb, but not a lot. Ultra dry--biscuit, hay, slightly dusty mid-palate with a mild finish.
trevor211 (158), Seattle, Washington, USA Nov 1, 2008 Pours a hazy orange with a decent, though dissipating head.Aroma is nice. Far more American ale than Belgian tripel, but a great balance of hops and light malts, citrus fruits, yeast and alcohol. Fermented fruits are at the forefront of the flavor, and I hate to say it, but this one is a victim of its ABV. The alcohol is prominent enough that it detracts from the flavor, which offers sweet citrus (satsumas?) and a bit of green bell pepper. Fairly disappointing. bb (2236), Martinez, California, USA Oct 27, 2008 Bottle. Amber beer with an off-white head. Bready, yeasty aroma with light fruitiness. Malt and bready flavor with light caramel and light spice. Medium bodied. Breadiness, caramel, and yeast linger. Some fusels noticeable. jimmack34 (161), Ohio, USA Oct 21, 2008 Smells of fruit. Pours dark gold. Tastes ok, strong fermented fruit and malt. Head didnt last long and aftertaste didnt either. Not really impressed.
