incutrav (533), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA Jul 3, 2008 I love me a imperial wheat brew! Lots and lots of wheat as you would asssume. Good amount of hops in there to balance out the wheatiness. Somewhat similar to NG Impy Weizen. Good stuff.
jeremytoni (638), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Nov 20, 2008 From a bottle poured a golden color with a good amount of head. Nice light citrusy sweet flavor with a quick finish. Ughsmash (3148), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Oct 25, 2008 Bomber. Poured clear brighter golden with a dusting and light ring of white head. The aroma picked up honey and pale malt sweetness laced with some toasted banana and spicy grapefruit.. aged hops and a little oxidation right at the back.. solid stuff. The flavor was on the warm side with primarily pale malts at the core.. floral and grapefruit hoppage was high surrounding.. banana, black pepper, and spicy clove notes also made a presence.. finished long and spicy. Medium-bodied on the palate and syrupy on the back.. felt OK. Solid brew overall. rampmaster (185), Alden, New York, USA Oct 23, 2008 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 22oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a clear, bright golden yellow colored body with some visible streams of carbonation and a creamy white head. The head is average in size and has good retention. It also makes nice lacing on the glass.
Smell: The aroma has a strong hop profile that brings nice citrusy grapefruit notes over a sweet wheat and lightly toasted grain.
Taste/Mouth feel: It has nice citrusy hops with mild bitterness and light spice that mix with sweet lightly toasted gain and wheat flavors. A sweet grainy and very mellow alcohol gives some warmth and sophistication. It finishes clean with a slight hop presence. The palate has a very smooth texture with soft yet active carbonation with in a medium to full body.
Notes: This beer brings great flavors with good balance and complexity.
garmonbozia (169), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA Oct 16, 2008 Bottle from Canal Liquors. Very nice refreshing beer. tons of citrus flovor and a nice golden color. would like to have more Strykzone (1071), Wood River, Illinois, USA Oct 15, 2008 Clear honey gold with a huge head that takes forever to dissipate. It settles unevenly with an appearance of the top of clouds as you fly through them. Grapefruit hops dominate the nose with some pine and caramel thrown in. Flavor is pretty much the same with hops dominating. Wheat flavors are almost completely buried. This could have passed as an IIPA it is so hop dominated.
