Overpower aroma of flowery hops. Flavor is strong pine notes, citrus, and....well, I don’t know, maybe spice? Interesting flavor and not your typical West Coast IIPA. A bit chewy and oily on the palate, but easily drinkable. But be warned, at 11% ABV it will sneak up on you quickly. Excellent IIPA.

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 13, 2009 A great IPA. One of my favorites. It has the essence of what all great IPA’s should have. A medium gold pour. Full hops in both aroma and flavor. Fully covering the palate. And not overpowering you with alcohol. Very good beer, ders0 (9), , Minnesota, USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 11, 2009 Wild fucking beer. This was exactly what the doctor ordered. Lots of orange flavors in this and it matches the orange color of the brew. Almost like a clovey orange IPA if that makes sense. The booze it well hidden but definitely present which is OK by me. Very very good. tzakiel (49), Virginia, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Loved it. very similar to the oak aged version. This one lacks the vanilla from the wood but it seems to be a bit smoother. Citrus, pine aroma. Malty sweet taste with a nice hop kick. Alcohol is well hidden. Very good. skortila (2905), Bunnik, Netherlands
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Bottled. Aroma has piney hoppiness, some grapefruits, some caramel. Clear, copper-amber coloured beer with a bit frothy, medium head. The taste is moderate bitter with some sugary/caramellic sweet ness. Its taste is full of piney and citric hops with some apricots and perhaps some other fruitiness. Medium bodied. Nice balance. I really enjoy those Southern Tier (D)IPA beers. Beautiful red amber color. Seriously lovely looking pour. Light eggshell head with sticky, gooey lace. Nose is subtle sweet piny hops. Some white sugar and light fruitiness. Maybe hard fruit candy? Not overpowering at all. Taste is big burst of smooth fruitiness. Big full mouth. Lots of hoppiness, but no bitterness. Caramel and fruit. Finally a little bitterness shows up at the very end. What a great beer! alagnak (359), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Bomber from theisti. Nose is surprisingly subdued - very light grapefruit and brown sugar . Taste is a big hit of woody, spruce needle bitter to start, with a syrupy pineapple coming in. Finish is a little boozy and slightly acidic. All around a good one, though it’s fairly straightforward. Looking forward to the oaked version to see the difference. Thanks a ton, Tim. raphael (417), Portland, Oregon, USA
