Aroma of caramel and fruity citrussy hops. Flavour is very fruity, hoppy, lots of caramel, rather sweet but balanced by a good deal of bitterness, citrussy bitter finish. Fullbodied, slick mouthfeel. Alcohol well disguised. Good stuff.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 29, 2009 Tap. An amber beer with an orange head. Nice fruity and decent caramel malty sweet. Very full in body with a solid malt base but otherwise dominated by the good aroma hops, slowly lingers into a more bitter and slight dry finish. pivnizub (5096), Bochum, Porúří, Germany
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Bottle: Unclear, deep golden to light amber coloured; stable mid-sized, lacy off-white head; strong herbal-hoppy nose, piney, too, with a distinctive roasty and sweet-caramelly backbone; solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; warming alcohol in the caramelly and hoppy finish. Really good stuff...... curly (759), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Clear orange pour with a thin white head. Aroma is caramel, sweet citrus and faded hops, damn this would have been awesome fresh, instead it is old and I will just have to live with it. Still packs a good amount of bitter hops and sharpness, I just know it should be better. Strange finish. ilherps (234), Carbondale, Illinois, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Dec 26, 2009 I am big on aroma. This beer has a strong hop kick on the nose, piney, citrusy, it has a better aroma than most beers Ive tried. The flavor is well balanced, but then the finish is intensely hoppy, grapefruit coming through strongly. One of the better IIPAs Ive tried. GrungyBob (51), Kettering, Ohio, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Bomber, pours a deep reddish amber with thick white head. Aroma, wonderfuly sweet malty, cherries, very fruity. Taste, notsweet at all like the aroma. Thick slight malt sweetness then clobbered by hops glorious hops. Beautiful tongue tingling bitterness - almost numbs the mouth. Somewhat balanced with the sweetness and bitterness but bitterness wins. I’ve had this beer numerous times and never notices the malty sweetness until i rated it. One of my favorites. BelgianBeerGal (1322), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Traded bottle side-by-side with Avery Maharaja. Strangely underwhelming in aroma and taste. The aroma was very faint with very little hop and just some perfume. Flavour was strangely fruity and citrusy; like more orange peel than grapefruit hops. Good malt backbone though. Not a bad offering, just kinda...eh... MoritzF (5073), Bochum, Germany
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 23, 2009 (bottle, 65cl) Hazy, deep golden to amber colour with a slightly beige foamy head. Sweet cara-malty aroma with notes of bread and cookies, accompanied by noble hoppy notes of lemon, apricots and a tinge of alcohol. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Robust cara-malty base with notes of biscuits, bread, liquorice and a tinge of cough syrup, combined with noble hops; well-rounded malt-accented and slightly fruity and resiny hoppy finish. Quaffable stuff. 23.XII.09 turboespresso (80), Port Moody, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Bottle. Looks like a brandy but it has a nice small head that subsides to a ring. Aroma of malt and piney hops. Malt is very caramelly. Well hopped without being a hop bomb. Hops are very resinous, piney, and have a hint of citrus. A good West Coast style IPA flavour from the East. Alcohol is hidden very well but I am getting a buzz quickly because this beer is damn quaffable for an 11% ABV brew. Not over-carbonated. I’m feeling the love.
