Commercial Description:
This pale ale is medium-bodied with a golden amber color. It has a very pleasant hop character that integrates nicely with its smooth malt flavors.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of caramel and pepper. Tastes lightly hoppy and sweet with a tea like finish.

Bottle from Valley Farm Market. Medium amber in color. Bready malt aroma, with a little sweetness. Quite sweet up from with some maltiness. Fruity flavors. I can taste a little alcohol, which seems odd for a beer of this strength. Some hops in the finish.

Pours cloudy deep amber with a chunky 2 finger head that lasts. Aroma of bready malt, sweet butternut squash, caramel, grapefruit and pineapple hops, a little piney hops. Flavor is sweet and metalic at first then...caramel malt, fruity - over ripe peaches and cantaloupe, a little bready malt, grapefruit. Finish is grapefruit hops and sweet fruitiness, a little caramel malt and grain like straw. Body is medium and slick with a kind of low carbonation. Overall a pretty decent beer.

Apricot colored body with loads of nasty yeast chunks. Nose of hops and a bit of perfume. Flavor of hops, pepper and citrus. Finish is bitter.

(12oz bottle, brewed in Frederick) Medium off-white head atop particulate-filled amber body, lovely lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, bread, earthy/grapefruit, light caramel. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, light lime. Light-medium body, some acidity.

Copper pour with fluffy head. Big citrus aroma. Loads of tropical fruits for flavor. A little too unbalanced

Bizarre, its awesome and horrible at the same time. Amazing orange hop flavor, that disappears way to quick to lame pale ale flavor. I tried to rate it to reflect that, but it doesn’t make sense. With the comments about switching brewers and what not, this has incredible potential but fails.
