Commercial Description:
This pale ale is medium-bodied with a golden amber color. It has a very pleasant hop character that integrates nicely with its smooth malt flavors.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Bright orange gold body with some floaters. A slightly khaki head on top is pretty dense. The aroma is nice grapefruit with some floral notes. The taste is grapefruit rind and it finishes with chewed up grape flavored Bubblicious. There is a light burnt toast and almond hint in here too, once you get more used to the hops. The finish is cluttered with more and more of the grapefruit as you drink. This is decent.

Bottle; pours a hazy amber color with minimal white head with light retention. Has Hoppy citris aroma. Flavor had slight malt sweetness being over powered by hop flavor with medium hop bitternes for a pale ale. Not a bad beer though, just a nice basic pale ale, nothing fancy. I think the one I drank was kinda out dated though.

Murky appearance with little aroma. There is some malt flavor mixed adequately with the hops. Has a slightly metallic hint.

ever so slightly hazy gold-orange. big bubbles, large rocky white head. citrus aromas, pineapple and grapefruit over toast and spicy hay. More grapefruit up front in the flavor that fades to a mild of toffee to a touch of bubblegum and a tangy finish. leans quite a bit towards the hops.

Aromas of lightly roasted malt and citrus/floral hop. Slightly hazy golden amber color with a decent white head. Medium body with crisp carbonation. The flavor is interesting malt, kind of roasted, and floral hop. This is a bit sweet, but the hop takes care of that. The finish goes the same way. It’s a really pleasant drink. Not a NW IPA wannabee, but a good APA. Worth drinking again and again.

12 oz bottle pours a straw color with a nice inch of fine white head. Aroma of a little malt and citrusy hops. Flavor is rather mild and well balanced. A little malt with a little hop bitterness to balance it out. A very nice easy to drink pale ale.

Hoppy smell. Dark hazy orangey brown with hyperactive bubbles, little head, and floaties. A truly ugly looking beer. Soft bitterness, slight yeast flavor (barely noticeable). It hits bitter with a hint of yeast goes sweet and has a bitter aftertaste. Interesting flavor effect. Not nearly as carbonated feeling as it looks. Average thickness. It’s an interesting if mediocre American pale ale.

Bottled. Poured chunky medium orange with lots of stuff floating around in there.. short cap of beige head. The aroma picked up candied lighter fruits and grapefruit with earthy accents.. sweet overall and rather pleasant. The flavor had very sweet lighter fruits and toffee on the core, with an almost granulated sugary feel to it.. sweeter and raw feel on the palate, which took away from the enjoyable flavor elements. Lighter-to-medium bodied and somewhat grainy on the palate, with moderate, mostly unidentifiable bitterness. I didn’t care for this one.
