Commercial Description:
An English style special amber ale. This ale's full body imparts a distinctive malty, robust palate and fruity bouquet. Brewed from pale malted barley, Munich, crystal, carastan and a touch of chocolate malts, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Bottle. A very tasty amber ale. Pours a little on the darker side with a zesty head. The aroma is very fruity and floral. However, the flavors are more on the malty side then you would have guessed. This ale has a great, medium bodied mouthfeel without the loads of carbonation that I would have expected.

Pretty nice pale ale in the highly drinkable balanced mold rather than loaded up with hops. Nice session ale.

12 oz bottle. Malty sweet aromas, but the flavors were not as nice. Somewhat rough on the finish. Not a big fan, but it wasn’t horrible

Tastewise, this is inferior to the Spanish Peaks Raspberry, but the ABV is a nice medium ground between the Raspberry and the Winter Cheer, though the Winter Cheer is actually a better general beer, it would seem, with a higher ABV (thumbs up to that one).

12 Oz. Bottle: Well first off the appearance is a dark amber. Poured a minimal white head. Flavor is unremarkable. Nothing to set it appart from any other brew. light body, thin feel, soft carbonation, bitter finish.

Pours a dark clear amber colour with a small off white creamy head. Nose of citrus hops, nuts and toasted malts. Intial taste is light bodied with nuts and mild toasted malts. Finishing with bitter hops on the palate. Minor head retention and lacing of the glass.
