Commercial Description:
An English style special amber ale. This ale's full body imparts a distinctive malty, robust palate and fruity bouquet. Brewed from pale malted barley, Munich, crystal, carastan and a touch of chocolate malts, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Pours a dark clean amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is light hops and raw malts. Flavor has a nice malty spice to it. Also some mild bitter hops. Seems like a pretty decent brew.

Bottle. Nose of sweet caramel and lots of funky earth with a touch of sticky grapefruit. Copper body with a tanned foamy head. Sticky body is lightly bittersweet with a caramel finish and a touch of tea leaves (and faint metal). Medium, sticky body. Mild funky-and-tea aftertaste. Nice little guy, but, judging by the two rather prominent mentions on the label, I was expecting a brew out of Bozeman rather than Denver.

Good basic EPA. I actually really enjoyed this beer. Pours a golden amber with a white head. The hoppy profille is nice the beer is a very drinkable easy going down beer.

Poured clear, dark amber into frozen glass. Thin head, almost no lace. Has enough bitterness to satisfy, reminds me a bit of IPAs. A bit thin on the palate but hops and bitterness make up for that. A nice beer for a hot day. $8.49/sixer in Boca Raton

Head looks good, body a little thin. I really think the taste on this is pretty decent. More hops than you’d expect for the English style, probably because they’re Northwest Pacific, but pretty drinkable stuff. A little thin in the finish.

Pours a basic amber color with a tan head that’s sorta thick at first but quickly becomes nothing.. It’s a malty amber ale with a touch of hop bitterness at the finish. Now let us never speak of it again.

33 cl bottle, Fargo. Reddish brown colour, malty sweet aroma. Sweet caramel flavour, thinner body than expected, slight aftertaste, decent but sweeter than would like for multiple bottles.
