Aroma is a pretty good mixture of malt and hops, but something is off... not sure what. Taste is the same, but more exaggerated. Something is just plain wrong here, and it gets worse as I try to finish. I think it may be the combination of chocolate malts with the english style ale.... the whole beer seems to be unbalanced. Not so good, I won’t be getting this one again. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA

Pours amber with a white head. Fruity caramel sweetness with a lightly citrus hopped finish. A bit of spiciness showed in the finish giving this beer a unique flavor to it. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 21, 2006 This beer is really tasty...after a couple of Bridgeport IPAs I was a little disappointed with the flavor, but as I went on it got to be great. Chocalatey and smooth, little carbonation. TerryR (383), Oswego, Illinois, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 17, 2006 Clear amber-red, thin head. Woody, nutty, caramel, marshmallow aroma with some vanilla and orange. Interesting. Fruity, spicy flavor with some toasted malt notes. It almost tastes like it has spices in it. It’s a little watery. Finishes clean with a hint of astringency. Distinct beer. TheBeerOrg (1586), Kentucky, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 13, 2006 Pours dark brownish amber with a thin off-white foamy head. Aroma is reminiscient of a Belgian yeast, very fruity and estery with notes of apple, pear, grapes, caramel, toffee, and candy. Taste is sweet and yeasty, cotton candy, alefruits, bubble gummy. This beer tasted more like a Belgian style than a EPA, which is not a bad thing, as I quite enjoyed this beer. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with wispy, light carbonation. Very good beer. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Nov 12, 2006 Updated: Nov 27, 2006Pours amber honey color w/ a medium sized, semi creamy, spattered froth that recedes to a thin dusty spackle and rings. Aroma is malty w/ grapefruit rind. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. Flavors are crisp and citrusy w/ a moderate malt componant and a slight biscuit goins ons. Some cherry essence appear as it warms. Overall: a well balanced amber that rocks. I dig this brew.
