Beer is clear medium-brown colored with a small, creamy, white, mostly diminishing head. The aroma is malty with light notes of toasted grain, moderatate note of caramel; Hoppy with a light note of resin/pine; Yeasty with a trace of dough. Trace note of oxidation. Pretty straighforward, but a nice balance. The flavor is moderately-to-heavily sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic with a long, moderately bitter, lightly sweet finish. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively. Not sexy, but not bad. jason (1624), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Pretty smooth though but nothing outstanding. Probably goes well with hot food. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA

Not really sure why this says its brewed in California since it clearly states on the bottle Montana. whatever. Dark red color (pale ale?) no head. Malty, rich, and fruity smell. Taste is a tad run of the mill and not very exciting. Its alright, pretty good for a session beer I would say. JFGrind (1354), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2006 For some reason I thought this Pale Ale would be an over the top hopjuiced brew. Boy, was a wrong, a very mellow, lightly bittered English Ale. I thought California brewers gave up on mild malty ales. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 31, 2006 Updated: Aug 3, 200612 oz bottle from local grocer. Deep amber color, average size head. Nice aroma, hoppy, fruity and some caramel. Taste is the same as the aroma, except a bit on the bland side, Not much pizzazz. Not terrible, but not great either. Overall a bit above average. This would be GREAT if you are looking for a very ’light’ session beer. Cornfield (4966), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 13, 2006 Pours a deep copper body with a full, creamy head. The aroma is caramel and toffee with cherries and apples - quite pleasant. Tastes of toasty malt, caramel, and said fruits with an herbal/earthy finish. Good session material.

Aroma is sweet and malty, similar to the taste. Hops are also present, but very little bitterness. Very light body with a smooth clean finish. IndianaRed (1560), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2006 On Tap at Kahootz Deep "amber" color, small pale head, slight traces of lacing. Mild and fairly sweet malt aroma, little hop bitterness. Flavor was quite sweet, malty and a bit papery. Very little hops, but not unpleasant. Very softly carbonated. Smooth light feel and no bitterness, malty trailer as well. An amber.
