Commercial Description:
An English style special amber ale. This ale's full body imparts a distinctive malty, robust palate and fruity bouquet. Brewed from pale malted barley, Munich, crystal, carastan and a touch of chocolate malts, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

A clear amber color that offered no head. Strong malt aroma with a certain syrupy sweetness. From the first taste there was a slight bite. This beer tended to bunch up on the back of the palate. Not bad but not in too much of a hurry to try again.

Bottle. Amber body with a lasting foamy head. Taste-ver cereal, honey, straw, hops. Better than I expected.

Tap at Bacchus. Orange with a small off-white head. Citrus hop aroma. Flavor was a mix of citrus hops and malt. Flavors did not come together as well as I like. To much harsh hops and not enough malt.

Attractive amber brown. Sort of lacking in the nose with a light malt aroma. Sweet malts with a thick fairly uncarbonated body. I can’t see myself turning one down, but nothing special here.

Mohogany pour, thin body, light beige head. The aroma is malty with some cholocate hints. Not bad.

Pours a nice amber color with a tannish head that goes away fast. A sweet aroma that I can’t quite put my finger on. A nice malty/hoppy flavor in the front but quickly turns into a burnt/bitter after taste.
