Commercial Description:
An English style special amber ale. This ale's full body imparts a distinctive malty, robust palate and fruity bouquet. Brewed from pale malted barley, Munich, crystal, carastan and a touch of chocolate malts, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Pours amber with a 1 inch head. Smells like average clean barley malt and the kiss of hops. Taste like malt, maple, and clean mineral. A good session brown ale. Flavorful finish

Amber with thin white head. Aroma of caramel and honey. Taste of light honey and paper. A shade watery with a slight chalky hop finish that leads to a honey aftertaste. A bit astringent.

Pours a brownish amber color with the perfect amount of foamy bubbly manilla head. Aroma is nutty and very sweet. Flavor is sweet with earthy mild hops. Caramel flavors. Overall, pretty good.

Poured a brilliant amber-red with a smallish of-white cap that lasted fairly well and laces the glass. Aromas of caramel malts, leafy hops and earthiness...nice nose. Big chew on sweetish caramel malts in the front then the willemette hops balance with resinous botanical bittering. this rides to the finish where it turns the drink dry and moderately bitter. A well crafted amber. Nice quaffer.

Nice! Aroma is subdued, with minor malt charachter. Appearance is dark amber, with minor head. It’s flavor is a gorgeous malt, with maybe minimal chocolate. It’s palate feel is smooth. Very good.

12 oz bottle. The body is dark, cloudy amber. The aroma is minimal notes of hop. The taste is pretty good. Maybe some notes of yeast as well?
