PorterPounder (2753), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Apr 4, 2008 Tallahassee, Fl. - New Leaf Market - 12 oz bottle. Medium golden pour, tight white head, thin. Kind of a candy sweet aroma with a little bit of sweat added in there. Vacant flavor with some metallic notes, spent grain, a touch of honey, faint fruity notes. Mouthfeel, slightly dry, thinnish. Not the best from these folks - the brand that will not die - no matter who is brewing it!
ChainGangGuy (1444), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jul 15, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, deep gold body with a foamy, white head.
Smell: Wheaty aroma with a scent of sweetened citrus and apple juices.
Taste: Sweetish, lightly bready wheat flavor with a slight tanginess. Continued hints of citrus fruit. Sip of tart apple juice. Light hop bitterness. More sweetish wheat flavor till the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Not altogether reprehensible, but nothing to stand on a table and cheer about either. BelgianBeerGal (851), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottled. Actually more flavour than expected and seemed more than most German kristallweizens. Clear golden colour with a medium white head and some lacing. Aroma and flavour were pretty light on the wheat plus some sweetness and hops. Overall, pretty nice surprise for the type. Tmoney99 (3414), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 9, 2008 Bottle in Belmont Party. Poured clear amber color with an average frothy white head that was mostky lasting with good lacing. Moderate citrus wheat aroma. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Light sweet flavor with an average sweet finish of short duration. Drinkable average brew. nick76 (1960), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 7, 2008 The aroma is sweet with bananas and a hint of bubble gum. There is malt and yeast too but the aroma is sort of weak. The appearance is golden with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma with a mild hop flavor. The palate is thin. Overall it’s easy to drink but not that great. GreatLibations (1240), Sasquatcho, Arizona, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours golden w/ a two finger head that reduces to a full canopy. Aromas of malted grains. Medium nectar w/ good carbonation. Malty sweet and grainy w/ only mild bittering.
