Commercial Description:
A light bodied amber ale made with wildflower honey and natural raspberry. These ingredients, combined with five domestic and imported malted barleys, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast, creat a unique, fruity ale with a soft palate and a touch of sweetness.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Apart of a mixpack. 12oz bottle, pours a ruby amber color. Aroma was subtle rasberry and florals. Flavor is good raspberry but lacking something. Lacked much carbonation and thin bodied.

Tried it for the first time in Bozeman a few years back, and was not impressed. pours a sort of cloudy amber or dark golden colour with a small white top. Aroma is slightly floral and sweet but for the most part a little stale in fruit taste. at times a little dry, but for the most part dissapointing

Bottle: poured a murky reddish brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is honey with a bit of floral. The taste is bitter and leaves a dry tangy tart finish.

Somehow, my brother’s neighbor got ahold of a case of this stuff (I think it was payment for something) and while he’s not much of a craft beer drinker, he decided to donate it to the "general" fund, meaning whoever wanted some could get it. Well, to be honest it was incredibly better at room temp than it was ice cold, but even then that temp change couldn’t save it from mediocrity. The beer pours out a reddish-amber color with a chalky white head. Aroma is muted raspberry puree and as it warmed up a much more honeyish raspberry aroma was released. Mouthfeel was mineral-water like with a ton of overcarbonation that I really dislike in beers. Flavor had some nice raspberry qualities to it but outside of that there wasn’t much to enjoy. Reminded me in some ways of a carbonated fruit drink. I didn’t like it enough to buy any more.

the aroma was slightly more hoppy that I expected. The color was a middle amber with moderate head on the pour. It had an ok flavor. The raspberry was present, not too strong. But its lacked something. It was still easy to drink and a decent beer. Nothing too special though.

Cloudy brownish orange with thick white quickly disappearing head. Aroma of yeast, honey and light raspberry. Tastes a little too carbonated, and a little bland. Light honey comes through in the flavor as does the raspberry in the light astringent finish.

Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a bad beer. I just don’t know if you can rightly call it beer. Very sweet flavor and aroma caters to those who might rather be drinking soda. Syrupy aftertaste clings to the palate. But again, none of these things are bad. Just not what I was expecting from a BEER.

Pours a light redish-brown with zero head. Smells of malt with some raspberry. The Raspberry is evident in the taste at the begining, but then fades into a light malt flavor. Slightly watery with little carbonation. I would almost prefer it if the raspberry flavor lasted through the finish.
