Commercial Description:
A light bodied amber ale made with wildflower honey and natural raspberry. These ingredients, combined with five domestic and imported malted barleys, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast, creat a unique, fruity ale with a soft palate and a touch of sweetness.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Body is an amber color with not much of a head. Aroma is raspberries, with a bit of wheat and honey. Taste is a candish raspberry, the wheat is still showing up in the taste. Alot like the Lengthwise raspberry brew.

The beer poured a copper color with a reddish hue. Nothing but raspberries in the aroma but it does smell good. The honey is apparent in the flavor even though it wasnt in the aroma. Raspberries and syrup is also present in the flavor. It really isnt bad for a fruit beer.

Pour is a copper with no head. Aroma is there with some raspberry tartness. Flavor on the other hand is extremely bland and boring. No raspberry or honey show up. If it even tasted have as good as it smelled it would be a winner.

Bottle. Aroma of raspberry is evident as soon as you pop the bottle top. Pours amber with little head. Smooth, but a bit too fruity tasting for my palate. Not bad, but I prefer Abita Purple Haze.

Pours a lite orangeish color with little to no head. Smell of wheat and flowers. Taste is kinda bland with a hint of wheat and sweetness to it. I did detect rasberry, but very little. This should be could a wheat beer IMO. It was very smooth though. I like it, but couldn’t drink alot of them.

<!-- B -->Bottle<!-- /B --> pours a medium orange copper with a modest short lived fizzy head. Coarse sandy colored lacing. Aroma is of raspberry extract. Quite sweet and of lightly toasted malts. Flavor is soft sweet maltiness with plenty of ras flavor. The honey comes through as well. A bit too sweet, but the flavors are what I imagine honey and Raspbery would be. Medium bodies and a lively carbonation. Not bad for what it is.

I liked the raspberry flavors in this brew, as well as the smooth, yet light maltiness. The sweetness is a bit over the top, and the body is thin. Kind of like a light beer?! Great aroma, but only half the taste of a really good fruit beer.
