Commercial Description:
A light bodied amber ale made with wildflower honey and natural raspberry. These ingredients, combined with five domestic and imported malted barleys, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast, creat a unique, fruity ale with a soft palate and a touch of sweetness.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Pours hazy reddish amber, almost resembling an IPA. Aroma is sweet malty. Taste is way too sweet. fruity taste with no hop presence to speak of. Almost undrinkable to me.

12 oz bottle - Grapveine Market - Austin, Tx. Pours a medium copper with a thin, but long lasting white head. Aroma has some faint rapsbery notes with a little bit oif cider-like essence. Flavor has the same brief raspberry notes, not much else. Mouthfeel is slightly watery. Turns a bit metallic near the end.

Bottle. Small smooth off-white head that fully diminished, sparse lacing, fine-medium sized bubbles, carbonated, and an orange brown hue. Aroma was lightly malty, sweet, raspberry and honey. Flavor was sweet, dry, tart, sour, raspberry, and some honey. Mouthfeel was fairly smooth and dry. Light body. Not impressed with this one at all.

Really not that bad. Not exactly appropriate for late December, But I can see where this would be great in the summer time. All of the associated sweetness is held back and not cloying at all.

Bottle. Thin and kind of weird tasting. Berry, citrus, lemon, light malts, perfumney, and a little hops. Too perfumey. Not pleasant to drink.

pours brown with a red tint. thin light head. strong sweet raspberry aroma. up front raspberry taste with a balancing bitter finish that is very carbonated. grainey taste is underneath everything in this. i might pick up some more for when some women come over, but other than that it doesn’t do anything for me.

retired!!!! hope this one wasn’t old. not bad for a fruit beer. A good balance between honey and raspberry in the aroma. taste was mainly sweet with some raspberry notes. raspberries didn’t seem artifical.

Bleh. Deep red with a tiny head. Pretty realistic raspberry aroma, but nothing else. Flavor is pleasant raspberry and honey right up front, along with a very brief hop bite, but it just plain drops to nothingness after that. Watery. Not worth buying more than one bottle.
