Commercial Description:
A light bodied amber ale made with wildflower honey and natural raspberry. These ingredients, combined with five domestic and imported malted barleys, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast, creat a unique, fruity ale with a soft palate and a touch of sweetness.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Bleh. Deep red with a tiny head. Pretty realistic raspberry aroma, but nothing else. Flavor is pleasant raspberry and honey right up front, along with a very brief hop bite, but it just plain drops to nothingness after that. Watery. Not worth buying more than one bottle.

I used to get this one in college every so often. Pretty good fruit-style beer. I detect more raspberry than honey, but the honey is slightly present on the palate, giving it a sticky, slippery feel. Very floral nose and finish.

Orange-brown with a tan head that quickly diminishes. Smells like a raspberry Jolly Rancher. Raspberry dominates flavor - very strong to start, but then fades in the finish, giving over to a honey malt flavor late in the finish. Not bad.

Wonderful raspberry aroma, but it smells more like a syrup than real raspberry fruit. great dark amber color. The taste was overtly raspberry. the honey barely came through as the raspberry dominance gave off a tart, bitter, sweaty flavor. the fruit subdues itself towards the end.

Color is a clear honey-ish amber hue, head is short-lived. In the nose, very raspberry, balanced by sweet honey notes. Carbonation is high, and initial hop bite is big and bracing, but brief. Body is medium, well-balanced, and the flavor is good, persistent, and pleasant. Inevitably, though, the taste of this ale, like every other part of it, collapses into itself and becomes rather dull. Or in other words, the novelty grows tiresome. This is an I seem to return to every now and then, but with lessening enthusiasm.

Pours a deep amber with a thin head, no lace. No bitterness, with sweet malt and defining raspberry notes. There is a tart raspberry puree, with notes of honey and spice. The mouthfeel is thin and light. Truly a beer for summer, imho. For a fruit beer, it’s very indicative of the style and decently balanced.

[12 oz. bottle] Medium amber color with not much of a head. Aroma was a mix of raspberries and malt with a hint of hops underneath it all. Sweet raspberry taste with a faint malt flavor as well. Finish was like raspberry iced tea.

Darker golden color, slight raspberry nose and taste. Finishes dry and a little tart. 1 or 2 bottles was good on a hot day.
