Commercial Description:
A light bodied amber ale made with wildflower honey and natural raspberry. These ingredients, combined with five domestic and imported malted barleys, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast, creat a unique, fruity ale with a soft palate and a touch of sweetness.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Not a bad fruit beer. Aroma of raspberries, honey, malt, and hops. Tastes pretty complex, but a little watery, with raspberry, honey, some hops at the finish.

(Brewed and bottled by Mendocino Brewing NY) Raspberry nose and flavor. The taste is very much like raspberry soda. The unbeer beer. Raspberry flavor tastes too fake.

Brewed and Bottled in Saratoga Springs, NY. Nose has lots of raspberry flavor with maybe a hint of hops in there too. Color is surprising. Slightly cloudy amber with a moderate white head. I really expected a blonde ale. Lots of raspberry in the start, but not cloying. Finishes with some nice hops and maybe some smoked malts in there too. This is a very pleasant surprise! Maybe a touch thin.

I used to drink this one quite a bit back before I discovered good beer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a medium brown color with a small tan head. There is a sweet fruity scent. The texture is smooth with a strong syrup like fruity flavor - definitely raspberry. There is a vague bitter aftertaste. A decent fruit beer, and one I like better than most of that style.

The honey and raspberry flavors were strong but did not dominate the flavor of the beer.

Pours an amber color with a medium head. Thin lacing. Aroma and flavor are strong raspberry - duh. Fruity and fizzy, pretty typical for fruit beer. Not good.
