Commercial Description:
A light bodied amber ale made with wildflower honey and natural raspberry. These ingredients, combined with five domestic and imported malted barleys, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast, creat a unique, fruity ale with a soft palate and a touch of sweetness.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Bottle. Fruity aroma. Dark orange body, off-white head. Flavor is just as advertised - mildly sweet, with distinct raspberry.

Pours a translucent copper amber with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet, fake raspberry, honey, very sweet and cloying, some grain comes through, not too hot on the nose. The flavor is sweet, fake raspberry flavor, cloying honey sweetness. Didn’t enjoy this one.

Appearance: amber ale with shade of brown. Fizzy medium plus head.3+
Nose: strong sugar coated raspberry aroma (candy syrup like)
Flavor/Palate : Raspberry soda up front with slight malt feel , sticky sweetness all they way back. Quiet fruity but felt off balance.

Delicious aroma of raspberry and flavor of honey and a hint of raspberry. This goes down smooth and is refreshing. Perfect beer for summer.

usually, its hard to fins a decent to good fruit beer. but I think that this one is a hit. the initial aroma is heavy on the raspberry. sip and you can taste the berries and a little honey. the malt content feels a bit on the weak side but it goes down smooth. there no tartness in this either. great for a quencher.

This pours with a very small very loose rocky white head and has a very hazy deep amber color. The aroma is like hand soap, sort of chemical with some berries and a few floral notes. Thus far the beer does not seem terribly promising, but the flavor is what gets me on this one. In the pantheon of American raspberry beers aimed at a primarily female market, this stands out. It is perhaps the most honest of this demographic. This is just remarkably tart, it is in no way overly sweetened if it is sweetened at all, the flavor is largely dry, This honestly tastes like raspberries, the flavor of the berries is very dominant but in no way is it anything akin to something like New Glarus’ raspberry tart, no it’s much a much smaller flavor, not overwhelmingly great, but very good.

Purchased a single 12-oz bottle from Flanagans in Appleton, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear orange amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a white ring. Aroma of breakfast cereal with raspberry koolaid, a hint of flowery hops and some honey. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of multi-grain malt, some artificial raspberries, a touch of honey and some citrus. Finish is semi-sweet with a raspberry aftertaste that slowly disappears.

12oz bottle. Pours an off-white head with a hazy orange gold body. Smells of honey and raspberries, as well as some malt. Tastes the same. Decent mouthfeel and finish.
