Commercial Description:
A light bodied amber ale made with wildflower honey and natural raspberry. These ingredients, combined with five domestic and imported malted barleys, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast, creat a unique, fruity ale with a soft palate and a touch of sweetness.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Pinkish amber color. No head but some remnants around the edges. Smells sweet. Raspberries. By the smell it seems to be a flavoring. Nice raspberry flavor but still tastes superficial to me. Kind of tart and kind of watery. OK for this style but I have have much better.

The darkest clear I have seen. Has a mild dirty white head. Malty pancake aroma. Nice malt base with generous rasberry overtones.

Poured with a reddish hue. First taste is surprising witht the lack of taste. Really not much to write about other than the clean taste and lack of any real aftertaste. Makes a person go hmm.

Reddish/purplish clear tainted amber with a halo of suds with galactic dust formations of bubbles...raspberry, must, but adjuncty aroma...raspberry flavors with honey sweetness...pretty boring though..but it does remain clean throughout..until the aftertaste, where it gets a tad strange...or as my notes say.."wierd"

Bottle. Amber-bronze and slightly cloudy with a small off-white head. Aroma features raspberries, honey malts (or maybe just honey and malts) with a hint of citrus. Flavor is sweet, fruity, moderately hoppy with a tart finish. Medium body and fair carbonation. Kinda makes me wish for a hot summer day to go with it.

Not bad -- if you like raspberry flavored beer, which I don't. It has a nice coppery amber color and fruity aroma but it has too much raspberry flavoring for me.

Pours a nice bronze colored body and a surprisingly large and thick tan head. The aroma has virtually No hints of Raspberry, mostly malt, caramel, a small note of honey. Wow, the flavor is in conjunction with the aroma but now I can taste the Raspberry, it’s subdued but present…… Malts, wheat, caramel, honey, raspberry in that order; Medium palate, very effervescent, actually much better than I was expecting it to be.

Ruby red colour with brown highlights and a thin off-white head. Very potent raspberry aroma with a bit of sweetness detectable throughout! Malty taste with more sweetness than anything else. Aftertaste a bit bittered from the malt, but fairly sweetened from the other flavours! Overall, a decent beer...actually a bit better than I had expected! I had this on draught at MacGregor's in Rochester, New York on 28-October-2003.
