Commercial Description:
A light bodied amber ale made with wildflower honey and natural raspberry. These ingredients, combined with five domestic and imported malted barleys, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast, creat a unique, fruity ale with a soft palate and a touch of sweetness.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, some honey, and a little raspberry. Flavor is sweet with a slight raspberry tartness.

Pours a nice slightly hazy amber color, nice carbonation, nice little fizzy off-white head, with some sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with some nice raspberry notes, and some wheat tones. The taste is sweet/malty, raspberry sparkle, slightly wheaty. Medium body. Drinkable, not a bad brew, but most likly would not buy again.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a crystal clear amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted through the first two sips and left a few spots of lace. Strong aroma of raspberry sweet-tarts and some malt. The malt is a bit more noticeable in the flavor, with the same raspberry sweet-tarts. I really did not notice the honey at all in this beer. If its in here, it is for naught. Not something I would drink every day, but a refreshing change of pace, particularly for the summer. I will keep that in mind when it rolls around in six months.

Bottle from the Utah State Store. Quite a strange beer, made in Wisconsin by a sort of retired brewery in Montana. Anyway, pours a clear reddish amber color with a small white head. The aroma is sweet sugary berries. The flavor is light, sugary berries, artificial tasting. Not horrible, but not my thing.

Amber pour with majority berry & grape aroma. Flavor of raspberries - kind of artificial - a little buttery as well. A bit sudsy. Interesting but nothing I would get excited about drinking again.

Light amber color pour with a small foamy head. Aroma and flavor are mostly raspberry extract with some sweet maltiness. Reminds me of fruity pebbles cereal. Not great, but I like the dog on the label.

A rosey brown ale with a thin receeding off white head. An aroma of raspberry mash, rather nice, with some beginnings of oxidation. In mouth, a good crisp malt with acidic raspberries, overall, very short, but hitting the spot. A summer beer. Bought at CJs Potsdam, 1.49$.

Pours a very light copper with a bit of white head. Smell is of artificial sweetener and raspberry. Taste is of artificial raspberry flavoring with a lingering sweetening flavor on the finish. This is a very smooth brew. Goes down like candy and tastes rather like it as well. Flavoring is pretty artificial but not to the point of making it undrinkable. Good for drinking with candy or fruity desert. Reviewed on: 03-24-2007
