Color is a bright amber with good carbonation and a nice off white head. Taste is fruity and spicy. Starting with a light body it goes down easy with a crisp feel. Finish comes in with a light raspberry taste and spicy feel that lends a faint bitterness. After taste is clean with a mild tartness. This is a very good brew and one of the better fruit beers I’ve had. kiefdog (1624), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a dark amber color with a one finger off-white head that settles quickly. Aroma does smell of raspberry and honey with sweet malt, bready and yeasty notes. Flavor is much of the same with a somewhat sour raspberry flavor that more resembles raspberry tea than beer. Generally light body with a quick finish. jeff789 (407), Pennsylvania, USA

I thought the base beer was a very solid amber ale, with the raspberry on top it added a hint of complexity. It is solid and smooth, with a good carbonation. There is little hop character. Some are mentioning that they think the raspberry tastes artificial, I did not think that at all. I thought it was well blended without being over the top. I was really surprised that this beer did not rate higher, I would definately drink this more often. Dandman629 (28), Ashburn, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Aug 28, 2008 This beer sounded real interesting... Honey Raspberry Ale. The aroma has the light hint of raspberry. The beer has a light copper tone almost appears purple. The first tast of this beer is really bitter, with an artificial raspberry flavor. Aside from the bitterness the beer goes down smoth. Definitly not my beer of choice. But if you like that taste of sour patch kids and beer... then this is your drink!!!! | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 22, 2008 Poured a deep amber orange with tinges of pink within its body. A very generous head of at least a couple fingers rises to the top before fading into a slim ring around my glass. The nose is rather faint, though I do detect hints of fresh honey and raspberry, maybe a bit of sweet malt notes. The first quaff is almost overwhelming in its sweetness. The body isn’t heavy so it doesn’t coat and linger in the mouth, but the overwhelming honey sweetness overpowers almost any other flavor profile. A few sips later, I start to detect faint notes of raspberry, but still the honey is prominent on my tastebuds. I almost detect a hint of sweet summer melon later in the body, mingling with the honey as the raspberries linger in the after-taste.
Overall, a rather underwhelming flavored beer. I’ve had honey beers and I’ve had raspberry beers, and unfortunately the Spanish Peaks Honey Raspberry Ale marriage of the two is far to cloistering sweet. There may be those who enjoy it, but she is not pleasing to my palate.
