Commercial Description:
A light bodied amber ale made with wildflower honey and natural raspberry. These ingredients, combined with five domestic and imported malted barleys, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast, creat a unique, fruity ale with a soft palate and a touch of sweetness.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Visit the Spanish Peaks website.

From a 12 fl. oz. bottle marked 195A07. Seeing the Editor’s note, I obviously got my hands on an older bottle. Pours a rich honey-amber color. Very aromatic. The raspberry is strong as are the malts. Taste is full of raspberry and smooth like honey. It is sweet but maybe a little too sweet for my liking. Still, not bad.

Kind of a redish even pink tinted brown on pour with a decent head. It tastes fruity (raspberry) but it isn’t over whelming and may be a bit under whelming. It was OK but the flavor didn’t taste of natural fruit and I really don’t think it was, was it? So so.

I tried this beer on a hot day and it was good but i wouldnt try it again. Sweet taste that overwhelms the beer and you cant taste much else. Get one for your girlfirend who doesnt like beer.

This is a very good beer! Nice raspberry flavor mixed in with some honey. Sweet stuff that smells good, looks good, and tastes good.

Uhh - wow. Tastes like a combination of soda a beer. Pours a pinkish tan, with a little bubbly, champagne-esque appearance. Raspberry soda aroma. Flavor is very very sweet, with a honey and raspberry juice flavor. I dunno, it’s something different and damn refreshing.

Red, amber liquid with a fading, fizzy white head. Aroma of dusty raspberry, honey, with a dash of caramel malt. Slightly tart raspberry, light honey, with a sweet and dry finish. Watery mouthfeel and uninspiring.

Copper pour with a small, off-white head that fades quickly. Raspberry and faint caramel malt aroma. Very sweet, cloying raspberry flavor with just a hint of caramel malt. Medium thin body. Too sweet. Needs a lot more malt to balance and give it some more body.
