Jan 10, 2003 Clear orange colour, very fragrant citrusey smell. Insanely fruity, no bitter hops, but a great flavour!

Jan 9, 2003 This is a very nice APA. Cloudy dark amber with a miniscule-bubbled lacey head. Deep, rich toffee-like amber malt aroma wafts out of the glass. Taste is similar; very sweet, but a nice hoppy bitter ending. But, the emphasis here is definitely on the malts. Very well done, and underrated IMO.

Jan 2, 2003 Bottled. Slightly darker than the lager, decent head and lacing; malty aroma seems to me to have a touch of maple, very sweet, nice. Flavor develops some hops midway through, but degenerates into a rather dull ending. Overall ends up quite drinkable but rather bland; a couple of tastes seemed to have hints of metal, also, yuck.

Dec 26, 2002 Rerate (bottle; replacing a festival tasting): Cloudy amber light-brown, large creamy beige head. Light citrus and earthy aroma with light malt. Sweet with light caramel up front, mild spicy bitterness, earthy finish. Smooth with light carbonation, almost British feel - with maybe a hint of fruit.

Dec 23, 2002 Both more fully bodied and more malty than I expected. Probably not as crisp as it should be. Dark amber color, lingering malt aftertaste.

Nov 17, 2002 Nice light copper color topped by a decent light tan head. Aroma is sweet and slightly fruity. Smell of earthy hops become noticeable as the beer warms. Flavor is fruity and spicy. Medium earthy hoppiness shows up just before the swallow and continues through the aftertaste. Resiny feeling lingers after the swallow.
