Commercial Description:
Fomerly known as Yellowstone Pale Ale. A traditional-style pale ale with a golden color and a full malt flavor that is surpassed only by the clean, crisp hop quality. The flowery, hop aroma is enhanced by a generous portion of dry hopping. Brewed from pale malted barley, crystal, Munich, carastan malts, Pacific Northwest hops, water and ale yeast. Note: last brewed by Mendocino Brewing.

Pours dark golden with a fully receding tan head. Aroma of flowery hops, resinous alpha acids, and mild citrus. Taste is similar to aroma with more notes of sweet caramel and grapefruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly resinous with lively carbonation. Enjoyable quaff, but nothing special.

Carbonated hazy amber with floaters and a moderate head. Tart huney, caramel and apple aroma. Very tart in flavor. I think this one has gone bad.

The aroma is very medicinal with honey, citrus, and malt. The appearance is amber with a small head. The flavor is medicinal like the aroma with a strong bitter taste accompanied by lots of toasted caramel malt. The palate is thin and the aftertaste is like cardboard. I didn’t really like this beer. I think it’s starting to fall apart from age.

Clear amber supporting a thin off-white head and minimal lacing. Mildly citrusy aroma. Bland flavor with only slight citrus and caramel notes and with very little hop bitterness. Somewhat thin texture and a weak, if clean finish.

Bottled. This is my second of two Spanish Peaks beers. The first said it was brewed in King City, Ca. This one says Denver, Co. Ratebeer has it as a contract brew by Mendocino( Hopland) and when I Googled it I got Bozeman Brewing... Stupid marketers and there "Let’s brew a beer" ideas. I hope this beer sucks! Pours a rich hazy copper color with a big off-white head. Malty aroma with orange notes. Primarily a malty beer with very little hop flavor or aroma. Slight honey notes. Whoever brews it, it seems fairly well done if uninspired.

(bottle - 12 oz) Copper pour with a thin white head and lots of carbonation. Aroma is a mix of sweet malts and boiled carrots. Bitter flavor at the beginning with a little bit of sweet malts in the middle. The finish is kind of bitter with a taste of dish soap. Not bad but just kind of soapy.

Bottle. Poured a deep amber with a large frothy white head that lasted and had good lacing. Medium hoppy flowers aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Moderate sweet malt bitter flavor with a small bitter long finish.
