Aroma is sweet and slightly fruity. Smell of earthy hops become noticeable as the beer warms. Flavor is fruity and spicy. Medium earthy hoppiness shows up just before the swallow and continues through the aftertaste. Resiny feeling lingers after the swallow. jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 3, 2004 Sparkling clear, deep golden ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head.
The nose is earthy, herbal and floral with a touch of clover honey. Well-hopped, but not overly so. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, bitter, dry finish with a bit of grapefruit rind at the very end. ¾ (5009), Boulder, Colorado, USA

A bit of a stale malt and nut feeling and flavor. Fairly mild carbonation, with some small hints of honey, ginger, and wet paper. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 28, 2004 One sniff and I sure hope this is an old bottle, but without a date, I can’t tell. Hazy dark golden color with a modest dark cream colored head. Sweet honey aromas along with weathered pine boards and now that I sense it, tons of butterscotch. This just smells sticky. Well the flavors are a touch more palatiable. Lots of hops bite throughout the quaff, which overtake the malt and hold it down until late in the finish. Too unbalanced and the aroma drops this one down. Tmoney99 (4798), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Medium hoppy flowers aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Moderate sweet malt bitter flavor with a small bitter long finish. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
