Commercial Description:
Spanish Peaks Nut Brown Ale is a medium bodied beer with a toasted malt aroma. Brewed with pale, rye, victory, crystal, and chocolate malts, the flavor is somewhat sweet and malty with a spicy, balanced finish. It is a smooth, easy drinking beer with a subtle nut flavor. Note: last brewed by Mendocino Brewing.

Nice malt smell with a touch of hop at the end. Deep brown. Thin head. Malt profile a touch of sweetness and a dash of pumpernickle and choclate. Best Menocino/Spanish peaks beer I’ve had. Very good mouthfeel. Brown Ale is an often botched style and while this isn’t a world beater it is a decent enough beer.

Very dark brown with amber highlights. The thin head is slightly off white. The aroma is heavy malt with molasses and old fall leaves. There is also dark bread and a little chocolate. The taste is peanuts and roasted chocolate. Finishes dry and slightly salty. Actually a chewy and interesting brown, something that is hard to find.

Pours a hazy dark brown with a small foamy tan head that leaves some lacing in my glass, roasty nutty-bready aromas. Nutty caramel flavors, finishes on the sweet side. Medium bodied with a nice creamy mouthfeel, I am not a big fan of this style, but this one is pretty good.

Bottle. Color is on the thin side of brown. Aroma isn’t nutty at all but more sweet caramel and malts. Taste is slightly hoppy with some tin and butter. Another dissapointing beer from Spanish Peaks.

A nice and easy-to-drink, nutty brown ale. Sweet and fruity with faint apple notes. Not bad.

A good nut brown ale, the best of thier beers I’ve tried, good and malty, with decent hops and a slightly nutty/citrus dry finish.
