Pours a three finger, light tan head that fades to a shallow layer leaving some lace. Mahogany color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Bitter chocolate nose. Flavor is sweet bitter chocolate, with a roasted coffee finish. Unusual brown but good. $1.49 for a 12oz bottle from John’s Grocery Iowa City, IA.

Really flavorful. Chock full of malt and it’s the chocolate type. This rich body is punctuated with rhapsodic waves of roastiness and hoppage. Lovely. Quite nutty, too.

A good nut brown ale, the best of thier beers I’ve tried, good and malty, with decent hops and a slightly nutty/citrus dry finish.

A pleasant nut brown. A strong malty taste, almost like an ESB followed by a pleasing nutty finish, however, the aftertaste is slightly sprucey or piney. A great beer to try. Certainly something different...Cheers...

Dark mahogany brown beer with a tan head that lasts a little while. Pleasing aroma of sweet chocolate. Flavor is excellent chocolate, lightly nutty, medium body beer, with a faintly bitter finish. Yummy. Better cool instead of cold. Reminiscent of the spectacular Fuller’s London Porter, but lighter in all respects. I really enjoyed this one. Purchased a six pack for $7.99 at Broudy’s, Orange Park FL, and well worth the price.

Pours ruby-brown, fluffy head (gone in moments), with a smooth light mouthfeel. Sweet malty aroma like burnt caramel. Flavor is predictably malty, sweetish, lightly creamy, surifically robust, easy to drink, with hazelnut and coffee/toffee.

12oz bottle from Party Source - Pours dark brown with a short creamy tan head that stays pretty well and laces the glass. Aromas of chocolate, nuts, caramel. Flavor is malty with chocolate, caramel, nuts, and a touch of roasted malt. Slight bitterness on the finish. Full bodied for a brown and dare I say more porter-like than any brown I’ve tasted before. I liked it pretty well.
