Commercial Description:
Spanish Peaks Pear Cider is a naturally fermented cider with a mild fruit profile, lightly carbonated and moderately sweet. This delicate balance creates a smooth, refreshing beverage.

A chartreuse yellow color with trickles of carbonation and a wisp of a white head. Head has wicked poor retention and settles to a bubbly sticky lace. The aroma is almost offensive; a tartness and acidity that does not stimulate the glands (and a hint of esters in the background). The flavor is sweet on the start with a skunky tart finish. Palate is comparable to a flat Orange Crush ? no carbonation and a syrupy texture. IMHO: A flaccid concoction if there ever was one. I am usually quite forgiving, but this cider should not be on the market.

The first cider I have had in ages, so maybe that skews my ratings. Blonde, with a possibly green tint. This aroma and flavor was of pear/candy cider--quite jolly rancherish--a bit too much so--though still tasty and enjoyable.

Hold your nose, here it comes! This stuff is pretty rough. I bought a six pack and I think have only finished three of them in a year’s time. Serious aftertaste which approachers being bitter.

Can you say sweet? The sweetness overwhelms everything, in fact, I can’t even taste the pear that’s supposed to be in there. Carbonated sugar water.

Not very good. No apparant flavor, just extremely sweet. I give it a thumbs down.
