Pours a deep brown color. Aromas of roast malts, touch of chocolate and coffee. Flavor is smooth dry malt with a mellow hop finish and aftertaste.

I figured a buck and a half for one bottle isnt that bad if its all going down the tubes, so here goes. Appearance is standard black but with a thinner and whiter head. Aroma is not that amazing, but has some notes of roasted goodness behind its vinegar tingle. The flavor is actually better than expected. It has a pretty thin taste to it, making it easy going. It does give off a slight bit of roasted coffee, but very little. Double the ingrediants of this and we might have something worth revisiting.

12.20.02 bottle (old notes). Pours a medium brown with thin head. Watery and light, not strong flavors, not much roast. Hints of cocoa. Could be more bitter at end.

Good dark color beer with a nice head. Somewhat weak and light for a porter. Decent flavor. watery texture. Somewhat lacking in finish. An okay beer. A sad porter.

Nice dark color but for a porter it is light. The flavor isn't bad. It has a slight coffee and chocolate flavor, but nothing big. But it has an almost watery finish. Lacks many qualities of a good porter. This would probably be a good dark beer for beginners. It doesn't leave a very big impression, though.

This brew is horrible. Well maybe not that bad... but stay away if you can. The color is that of a good brown ale, and the taste is light and watery.

Rather remiscent of Blackhook Porter, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. Rather light in body and average alcohol content. Good flavor, though, typical roasty porter malt with some lightly bitter hops. Body needs some work, though, lacking complexity and depth in a big way, and lending a light mouthfeel, which is great in some beers but not a porter.
